What's Blizzard up to?

Thanks all for helping me decide! I ended up pulling the trigger on the R99's since I've had the tab open for the past 2 months and love the thinking behind the skis.

I'm certain the M102, MF108, R9, and the B97 would be great options too! My thought process was if the R99 isn't what I'm looking for it will be easier and quicker to catch and release the R99 here to pivot to one of these other options than it would be to go the other direction. Hope to do some laps with you all up at Alpental/Crystal next winter!

Hi there

There’s a great deal on some 185 Cochise 106 online (278€ instead of 700€). Worth getting or I should really get the 192 ? I am looking for a variable conditions ski to complement Brahmas 187 and R11 in 192 for deeper days. Really disliked the R10 when it came out but I suspect this one might be a damper version, keeping things a bit livelier in 185.

I am 188cm and 90kgs on the agressive side.

Having skied the 192's myself (and liking them, but kinda "meh" when comparing them to the OG's and Carbon versions) I think it depends on how comfortable you are on 192's.

They feel somewhat less "strong" than the 192 Carbons, and less damp and loose than the OG. But they don't feel particularly long, or cumbersome to me.
But I don't ski them in bump lines either. (I do my best to avoid big rock-hard bumps, pretty much anytime.)

Most of my skiing on them has been on open bowls with pretty serious room to let them run. They do ok in trees too - though I tend to keep speed down, not wanting to die in a tree impact. (There's been a few of those the last number of years at my local hill.)

So, if you're comfortable on 192's and want more stability generally, and given your size, I'd go 192's.
If you don't find yourself craving the extra stability, go shorter.

For me, having the longer ski just gives me an extra "gear" where I can push that much further out on the limb before falling off - which is just super fun. You know; faster, more reckless, more stupid. All so I can crash harder when the inevitable happens. :)

I'd probably go for the cheap 185's. You can always sell them without losing much, IMO.

Has anyone had time on or come across an actual review of the new 0G 94 Approach skis?

I mostly like my 0G 95s but often find myself wishing for something that was a little better in variable mank/mush and a tad more forgiving when I invariably come in too hot to some questionable snow. The slightly softer flex and incrementally wider dimensions of the Approach seem like this could fit what I'm looking for but I'm curious to hear from someone who as actually skied it.

Where did you see these? There are two colorways for the Zero G 95 and a new Zero G 80 LT which is supposed to be softer and more forgiving, haven't heard of a 94mm wide Blizzard touring ski. Maybe a Blizzard topsheet on an Enforcer Unlimited 94?

No idea what it skis like. It wasn't at the tests last spring and it's not in the US 2023 catalog I have. The regular ZG 95 is great, sort of half way between the original "stubborn" version and the 2nd gen watered-down version.

94 Approach isn’t available in NA

Sounds like you found another early production. Blister also noted Blizzard informed them that the pre-release-demo-fleet batch for all the hustles were coming out heavier for whatever reason.

Looks like there was some positive feedback from the Hustler 11 last season.
I'm looking for a new pair of touring skis for Western Canada (mainly the rockies and into eastern BC). Coming off 187 Hojis (previous generation).

Trying to decide between the new 191 cm Hoji 4 Lock ( I would love to get rid of tail clips) and the H11 in a 188. Any other feedback that TGR knows of that could help me make a decision?

I'm looking for a new frontside ski (since it is mostly hard and icy in Scandinavistan). Now I'm on the 180 cm Brahma which I love but would like to have a more race-like ski as well. My son has a pair of Volkl Racetiger GS (180 cm, r=19, 67 mm waist), so I have skied them a bit. I can get the Firebird HRC in 180 cm at an OK price. Has anyone here skied the HRC and if so what do you think?

Firebird HRC rips, but I would go with a 174 if you like the Brahma in 180 (they are not light, I think the next size is 182). Another great one this season is the Atomic Redster Q9.8.

R87 in 182 was my decision. I didn’t want a front side ski with an ~18m radius (R87 is 23m), so was considering a masters GS ski, but R87 should be much more versatile than that.

I’m trying to resist the R87.

In debating whether my 13 year old kid (5'6, 110 lbs) should be on Rustler Team or an adult ski, I noticed that the Blizzard website shows the Rustler/Sheeva Teams having the exact same specs (dimensions, radius, weight) as the adult Rustler/Sheeva 9 in the 148 and 164 lengths. Are the Teams and the shorter 9s the same ski with different topsheets?

Curiously they differ at 156/157 lengths, with the Teams spec'd at 1410g for 156cm, and the 9 at 1630g for 157, and other dimensions the same.

First the bodes i found that were mounted with shifts, and now this 'touring ski'...

What are the GP smoking cause I don't want it.

But the techs said that those bodes never had a base grind (you could eyeball the convex) and were convinced that it was still on the factory tune; concluded 1 or 2 were done in 10 years. So I'll gladly take their unused skis in that case.

Question for the shop guys….anybody else having trouble finding/getting into the Blizzard/Tecnica Academy this year? Looking for the training/to get into the BlizzTech shop site. (usually is up and running by now)

It looks to me like that family of brands including Nordica left the platform and went to Endvr which is too bad because that app is terrible.

It's true. Blizzard/Tecnica is now officially on ENDVR. All pro deals and SGGG points will be done through the app, not the manufacturer's website. Went live as of yesterday.

Yes, I had to get a temporary passcode, then create a new one for ENDVR. Not sure about the Blizzard/Tecnica store, it's possible they don't have the SGGG or pro deal stuff in stock yet.

Try closing and reopening the app, mine is good to go for shopping. The entry code is the one you get after passing the quizzes.

How are the Hustle 10 and 11? Had a pair of Rustler 11s in a 188 but just didn't feel like I could drive them in deep snow otherwise id lose float and fall over the front. Love the ski otherwise though. Trying to find something a bit more fun/less demanding than an Atomic Backland 107 for touring. I really like it, but just want something that is a bit better in variable snow.
