Dot cams are down and obs stations are down. I think that central can might be on batteries
Edit-looks like dot cams are back. Must have been nasty up there. Would have been a fun one to sit it out through
Yes, power is definitely out. If power does come back by Sunday, I'm betting on a bottleneck due to reduced driving lanes 5 miles from the summit and less parking at alpy and other base areas.
Wsdot reporting 38 yes 38 natural slides came down onto 90

Best Wednesday night I've had in months
What time would Alpy open chair 2 by if highway is open tomorrow?
11.37
I was gonna say 2:59

Anyone have an idea approximately how much they got after the cooldown?
It's back up (as is creaky?)

1.39 wet since 5:00 pm yesterday at 18-20F sure seems like more than 6".
I'd guess more like 12-14".
Gentle reminder for the unknowing: Alpental->Monday->Closed
Yeah, you are right. I was reading it wrong. I hope you are wrong on alpental tomorrow, but guessing you have that nailed too. I will ski west tomorrow if that is all there is at this point!
:)
Yeah, not Alpental specifically. I was thinking of the Summit as a whole for Monday. Though we get a bonus with Alpental open the following Monday (1/17) for MLK Day.
If they can get open tomorrow with 12+", I'll be very curious how it skis with the rain layer.
Surfpow amongst giant chunder debris with blue ice lenses on the rollovers, sounds about normal
Nah it's a mis-read of the precip after a power outage. The little notes say when the power is out the precip gauges don't heat, so they record more/inaccurate precip numbers when they come back on line and thaw out.
Per my old man who's been up there digging out all week, 26-28" fell thurs night into Friday 11am then ~ 2" of rain thru the afternoon changing back to snow early evening, 6-8" new o/n.
That sounds wonderful, it’s really good for the base I hear

We'll be able to ski debris fields well into June!
Official update "I-90 Snoqualmie Pass on track to open Sunday. A time to be provided late Sunday morning."
Late Sunday morning announcement does not sound promising for Sunday skiing.
Their website:
All areas at The Summit will remain closed Saturday, January 8 and Sunday, Jan 9 due to I-90 extended closure. We plan to re-open Monday, Jan 10 pending the status of I-90, but may have delays and limited operations. We will continue to provide updates as soon as we have them.
