It’s been your praises that have kept me on the fence all season. The latest offer was too good for me to resist, plus I had some personal things to celebrate.

Talked to Scott on the phone today about my order. So professional and so cool to deal with, as a company and a person. He asked the right questions the right way to make sure I got what I’m after (short answer, they’re doing exactly what I need/want). I know they’ve taken some flak here recently but I just haven’t had that kind of experience with anyone from the company. It’s always been first-rate. For me and the friends I’ve pointed their way too.

Got lots of love here for the whole Team at ON3P. Portland’s finest.

I'm with ya. Remind me what height/weight/length you're on? I did the non TGR thing and went from a jeff108 191 to a jeff116 186. The 116s were too good a deal to pass on but I thought they'd feel too short at 6'3, 205 but I've been happy with the added playfulness and maneuverability and haven't missed the length so far when going fast.

The BGs make you feel invincible on 3D snow, but I have the J116s and they're just a friggin' Swiss army knife - they slay powder but are still entirely enjoyable on groomers where the BGs start complaining.

I'm starting to think I like turning too much for the BGs, even though they do make me generally feel invincible.... Maybe J118 is the move for the overly turny who still like ON3Ps general vibe otherwise?

Welp, got my edges tuned and reset to 1-1 at a shop and it completely fixed any issues I was having with the Asym BGs. Sucks to have to do this but they're so great otherwise it's worth the hassle.

Edit: if anyone cares, the shop was EVO in Seattle and they're fully aware and used to this issue. They have a tech there who's apparently their 'ON3P guy', said mine was the 3rd this week brought in for the same or similar issue.

On another topic, any one have info on ski weights for J118 tour layup’s or for 50/50 cores? Might be with in the thousand posts here and I just can’t find it. Be cool if it was someone with the actual ski and a scale.

I'm glad your skis from a sporadic Issue in a production run from 2 years ago got fixed. I'm sure a few of you can keep trying to push the narrative though.

if the Evo comment is accurate though, then that sporadic issue from a production run 2yrs ago seem to be less resolved than one could have hoped for.

So the dead horse comment might not be entirely called for.

I dunno, the thing that I makes me more irritated on hearing is not people linking ON3P and bad tunes generally, but mags posting their experiences across different models AND across different time with tunes being off. And I am really annoyed when people who hasn't even been on the skis mention their perceived link between ON3P and build quality.

and yes, if it is a dead horse and the quality assurance steps have worked - fantastic.

I’ve got both the ASYM 189 BG and 186 J118, and love having both. I take the j118s when I want to slow things down and take the BGs when it just want to rip.
You should just do both :)

They need a “guy” to set a base edge angle? I mean if your skis don’t come with a great bevel then it is a bit shitty. But it happens with many manufacturers.

Isn’t it a five minute job with a bevel guide and a stone or diamond file. What am I missing?

Curious… does this have anything to do with the cores ON3P uses. I truly believe they are leaving the factory 100% perfect, but does a bamboo core dry out at all? Thinking like work-working if Timber is green/not dried out. Hard to believe that bamboo covered in epoxy would need to “dry” out but just a hypothesis I’ve been kicking around.

Side note: the SG is still the best freaking ON3P ski to date for me. Skied them the last 2 days and holy shit… GOD MODE. Send everything. Cadillac suspension. No fucks ever given.

I've had a pair of 2016 193 C&D's for several years that I never really jelled with. They were fine in pow but super erratic on groomers back to the lift, like to the point of wearing me out in a run or two. Chalked it up to RES not liking to be driven/ not for me and benched them for other options.

Finally got around to checking the edges. They were absolutely terrible, like someone had tried to make waves with the edges. Took them out today after retune and finally get the love people have for RES. Seemed even looser than before in pow but more importantly, they ripped on groomers. Weight forward, centered, carving, skidding... whatever, they just worked and were completely intuitive. One of my best days in a long time, really shocked how great these are. They have such a great mix of directional stability and R/R like quickness. My quiver is pretty bloated but these have won the #1 inbounds pow ski for the foreseeable future. Not trying to beat a dead horse but I was ready to send these down the road before... really glad I didn't and I probably wouldn't have bothered checking if I hadn't read through this thread.

When they came to me they were a few years old but looked like new. Guessing they changed hands a few times because of how poorly they skied on anything but deep.

Would love to try to find some of the Bearclaw generation BG now as they seem the little brother to these design wise.

Rumor has it there may be a really limited run of the OG banana rocker Cease & Desist. Nothing confirmed tho, just a rumor I heard…

I am 100% onboard with this theory, I’d had the same curiosity.

I think its likely still in the realm of “conspiracy theory” but I’d buy that skis might settle and warp slightly after sitting and experiencing changing humidity. Maybe based on construing and where their built this process might be different.

Wondering if anyone who teles on the woods 108 can speak to ideal length. I’m 6’ 175lbs. Would 182 be too short? The fact that they measure true to length makes me more optimistic. Never skied anything from ON3P but from all the talk they seem great.
