^ top of Monadnock is not an easy hike. Just FYI...
Also, in Waterbury, Ben & Jerry's is the obvious option for kiddos. Kinda surprised Peruvian didn't mention that as his daughter works for (worked for?) them.

All VT mags doing alright? We skated by in Jericho but a lot of our neighbors weren’t as lucky. PM me if anyone needs a hand nearby!

It rained for all of 17 seconds down south at Magic. Seems like the worst of it was from Middlebury (tornado in Bridport) to the MRV and north. Hoping my friends up that way are all ok. I've heard from Peruvian and Vt-f. Anybody heard from Laps/Glap?
We escaped in Richmond with a washed out driveway and being stranded until late pm. Neighbor’s weather station reported 5.5 inches in 24 hrs.
Some of the carnage:

Saw some strong winds forecasted for southern Vermont and upstate last night. Bolton lost a good piece of its access road, but I have not seen much else posted.

my friend’s road in waterbury was pretty messed up. his nextdoor neighbor has to go around 8 miles to get back on 100 until it’s fixed.
^wow. looks like a perfect spot for a chase scene and chased car clearing the gap at 100mph...were this not real life.
hope you're enjoying the summer - and that the weather's been kinder up your way.
it's been tropically oppressive here, with the occasional torrential downpours and tornado warnings. fortunately none of the 3" hail that was reported in western ny this week!
Drove up the access road to BV USA last weekend and WOW. Hard to believe they would even open it! I'll try to post photos and videos here if I can.
We were trapped in West Bolton for a bit, but all good for the most part. I wasn't around last summer, but a few of the basements I saw and helped clean out were damn stinky from that river silt.

Summer recon season
Huh? No it's not.

I’m putting this here because only us ice-coasters will understand the driveway sand barrel reference.
Tell me you’re from the city without telling me you’re from the city…

It’s upside down right? I’m gonna play devil’s advocate and say they were running low and rotated it to make it easier to get the shovel in there.
That's how we have ours set up. :fmicon:
That was my impression as well. Maybe city folk thought it was a trash barrel and not a sand barrel and threw trash in that was then dug out.
Sounds like Killington is getting sold off.
Alterra works for me
^ and me. Got the full Ikon for the upcoming season. Won't have to "save" my Killington days any more (hopefully).
According to a friend that works for Stratton (Alterra-owned) the areas get mo money from the corporate overlords if they stay open longer. Bodes well for spring skiing at the Beast.
Honestly not keen on an Alterra takeover even though unlimited K might be nice. Already unbearable after 9:30 on Saturdays, with talk on KZone that the bush would be a good Saturday escape from the K Krowds:rolleyes:. Fri, Sun, Mon are busy like non holiday Saturdays fifteen years ago as well.
Local investors buy Killington.
