Mike Sell (Mike Harris) Downhill?
That was my second guess. There really aren’t others on that side that fit that elevation, distance, and terrain profile.
But hot damn, what a fun little thing Drake is!

Replaced the X2 with a coil and some new rubber for the Spires anniversary.
How’s that coil work on the bike? I know that bike is pretty linear.

I recently got a Norco Sight which came with Trail Evo's instead of the Shimano's that were spec'd on the bike. Rode them for a few weeks to see what I thought before seeing what reviews said...I pretty much came to the same conclusion as ZZZ and all the reviews.
I was surprised when I looked them up and saw the price. Honestly went a few weeks thinking they were a budget brake based on the finish of the levers!
But they seem powerful and shine on big alpine descents IME so far. I'll definitely keep them for the foreseeable future.
I started working on bringing my trail toolkit up to date. Today I picked up Wolftooth chain pliers...Next on the list is dynaplugs, a Specialized mtb mini pump, and a tublito.
Splurged on some MTX red brake pads front and rear and 2.0mm rotors. Will test them out today in one of my favorite downhills in the Crazies today! Attachment 465400

I "upgraded" my Dominion A4s on my hardtail to Formula Curas, since I put the A4s on my bigger bike. Overall, I'd give them a 8.5/10 and think they are a great trail brake. I've taken them on some long, brake-heavy descents though, and I could immediately tell the difference in how much less modulation and control the 2-piston Curas have compared to the 4-piston A4s.
So happy with the Curas, but they've also made me appreciate my Dominions a whole lot more.
Some other bugs I have about the Curas are that they are advertised as hand-adjustable for lever position, but that's not the case, and it's awkward to get a wrench behind the lever to adjust it. I also have the levers as close to the bar as possible, and I would go further if I could. I suspect folks that like their brakes to bite very close to the bars won't be able to make the Curas work for them. My last complaint is that I don't think Galfer makes pro pads for Cura 2s and I really wish they would

These are as close as I’ve found to the old VXI.
Wider/roomier than the Impact Pro but not as stiff. I can’t compare stiffness to any of the 27 different Freerider versions, but guessing similar to the stifferer ones.
Gonna keep the Impacts for park since foot fatigue might be an issue. But these will be my new daily driver for all pedaly rides.

Built this up from a very lightly used frame. Maiden voyage today.
XL Spur
Fox 34 std w/ Grip2
Hayes Dominion 4 pots 203/180
XT drivetrain, 170mm cranks, XTR chain
OneUp carbon bar
Roval Control rims on DT350

I finally bought a new-style helmet: Troy Lee A3. I’ve been riding for four years on the A1 which was first sold in like 2012 and never updated, mostly because I could always find them for like $50 in MIPS.
The A3 is awesome. My big riding glasses don’t get smacked by the brim of the helmet and get pushed down my face, the sweat band inside does exactly what it’s supposed to, the suspension fit it awesome, and it’s incredibly well vented compared to the A1. I can’t believe I waited so long to get a decent helmet.
Such a fun bike! Nice build.
Not buying into the 165mm cranks are better?

After 9 years I upgraded the SS.
-Fox 34 step cast fork
-Two light bicycle speed rims with Sapim cxray spokes and alloy nipples
-Chris King front hub
-S works fast track, 2.35 front rubber.
-Gates belt, front ring, and rear sprocket
-Newish Time pedals to replace my completely outdated Speedplays

Plus, it’s not quite up to slaagmaster, but there’s some pretty funny shit in the background, including my old plug boots .
There’s a fixture on the right seat stay.Attachment 465603
Can't stay away from the Hayes sales...
Bought this little Mara inline shock and slapped er on tonight. Already like it more than the SIDluxe... less pressure for same sag, better small-bump, less bongy tween hits, just smoother. Better matched with the 34 g2 up front.

I got the new levers installed and have been on one ride. Night and day difference. I went from buyers remorse about the brakes to pretty stoked on them. Crazy that they would spec their top of the line brakes with such bad levers. Unless you have size 14 hands, then maybe you’d be stoked right away.

Woot, final touches added!
Built up a V3 Wrecker
- X01 AXS Drivetrain (rainbow cassette)
- Fox 38 Grip2 w/ Vorsprung smashpot coil conversion
- RS Deluxe Coil (soon to be Push 11/6)
- WAO Unions
- Code RSCs (rainbow bits)
Such a fun bike, pedals great, plenty of smash when needed yet the short chain stays keep this bike so so active/playful!

Sick Rig! Got that drivetrain, those rims, and those brakes going over to my new build.
FINALLY got the Lady's new ride built up. Canfield Tilt. Nice upgrade from the Nimble Nine hardtail she's been on for two years. I fucked up on the fork though. Got it cheap, it's a 140 that I thought I could convert to 150 for $40. Turns out the 34 doesn't do that anymore. A 36 felt like overkillI for her, I mainly wanted the geometry benefit of the 150 fork. I guess we're gonna go there though. Anyway she LOVES it so mission accomplished. Size small, 165mm cranks, a 33mm Spank Split stem, 150mm One UP dropper really help dial in to her size. 31.8 Protaper carbon bars should be somewhat forgiving.

Now I can start on MY new build!
If your new to AXS it’s a bit of a trip to undo the last half-decade of muscle memory. There is a replacement trigger that feels a bit more natural for like $12 on amazon. The wheels are so nice, that lateral rigidity is nutty!
Nice work on your ladies steed!
She’s a hungry gurl 🤤

New grocery / community / bar rig…. 1990 GT Karakoram in “ purple haze” colour. It’s in great shape, will throw a new bar, pedals, tires and maybe a pack and rack and call it a day.

that stem dude!
skilyft, that black evil is murderous sex
Stem is even better in person…. Like tie dye early 90’s awesomeness.

Checking in with a step brother, my town bike: the 90/91 Continuum, still with original SunTour XCE and obscure 700D wheel size (650B in 1990??). Stem is indeed intense

Solid…. Such cool looking bikes, at least I think so. Great for running around town and shit like that.

FINALLY got my new ride built up!
Sat in the Garage since last fall till I finished the Lady's new ride. Wasn't in a hurry because I was riding it's little brother the Tilt until a month ago when I got the fork extended to 170. Been on my hardtail since then which, while cool and all, was getting old.
This one looks deadly!

Looks sick. I wanted a Canfield so bad after demoing a Revel Rail a few years back. Bottle in the front triangle is a requirement for me though...
put some friction tape on ends of brake levers. Pretty pumped.
I am far too reckless and it is too rocky here for me to be riding carbon anything. Just scraped my seatstay yesterday, don't care.
Enjoy your CBF!
I have been wrapping my last 3 bikes with a 25$ roll of 3M film, so what I have found happens on my Bullit is the 3M film will get scraped off but the paint is not touched
Finally built it the way I wanted. Started as pre-owned Gnarvana size 4. I swapped suspension for Mezzer Pro/Mara Pro, brakes for Dominion A4, 5dev cranks with Absolute Black Oval 30t chainring (also have the same in black and 34t). I9 wheels are still fine but might grab some WAO's. The stem/bar is WAO Da Package combo, not sure how I feel about it but it's light and pretty. For those with Dominions, Wolftooth finally made a dropper lever with Hayes specific clamp. Might replace shifter/derailleur with AXS stuff. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...215a572096.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...f4d2ed4672.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...bdc461b155.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...47b1993703.jpg

Sick sled,
Can confirm; despite i9 305s being a nice wheel. WAOs are so much more laterally rigid and just blow away the 305s when tracking through chunk. That said I f you’re hoping to save weight. They are basically the same.
