(6:02 pm friday)
props to the trail building creativity of the ops crew.
their work held together. i'd expected to walk down the headwall late day.
there's time for that yet, but superstar skied great today, a bit of reefy base ice in stretches but higher w/e volume will take care of some of that.
was pretty country club today with carry-on lifts.
runs with scottski a bonus.
Good crowd at Killington on Sunday. Ran into Buckethead a couple times.

^^good to see you were there akok and nice pics (i bumped into powbmps on my first downhike) i planned to get there by eight, thinking i'd beat the smallish crowd. after seeing the pics of the line, i'm happy with my 9:30 arrival. i still got a shirt and after my first wait for the lift the crowd had died down.

k has taken the art of sonar-assisted snow farming to new heights.
as the webcam showed gaps of bare ground multiple lift towers long, it became harder to suspend disbelief, but by weds k posted a drone vid of the patchwork and hinted at a june reopening.
by thursday afternoon june 1 was official.
other than the downhike, there was enough width (and depth) that superstar felt all there.
no novelty, the skiing was legit all day. by the time the thin areas gave way around 3:30, it was no biggie.

^^ no shite!
i was completely unable to log on yesterday.

Fun, fun, fun for sure!
My shots are strangely similar to bucket and akok. Weird .

Called it quits at 1, before anyone got hurt.

Always a good time.
^^ha! snow is apparently boring when it's everywhere. so many eyes were watching the superstar cam hoping ops could roll out one more day.

Come to Maine for the skiing but stay for the strippers!

Nice one, Bub!
I’m so confused.

Springfield Mass for strippers
Indeed it is.
I’ve been riding after work and cut up through Magic on my way out to Lowell Lake and beyond. Okay, so those swans in the pond next to the Blue Genie are those really good decoys or are they alive? Fresh paved parking area in front of the Genie, things are looking up in L-Derry.
I was spell checking you.
True, Rue Ste Catherine is a mere shell of its former greatness
You should see my driveway...
Those are decoys. Did you see a herd of Canada Geese on the opposite side of the road?
The geese were actually in the pond the other day, but they’re gone now

Would an adult please Pick up buttahflake at the Eurothread ride.
I repeat.. little buttahs legal guardian, please come to the Euro thread immediately.
Yo, things are wicked chill here in the ECRC and have been for years now, take your bullshit back across the fucking pond, beater.
Sweet Jeebus if they didn't come here scolding you ^ I wouldn't have witnessed that handbag fight, that I could have lived without.
Handbag fight is the perfect descriptor!

In Newport,NH. Anybody? Bueller… Bueller…
Headed up to Smuggs in August for an extended weekend with small kids, I believe at the resort with a pool. Any other things to do with the youngens’ ?
Please leave out all the breweries I will be driving past in waterbury, mmmkay thanks!
I’m bringing my osprey backpack for the toddler, otherwise youngest is 5 and oldest is 8. Hiking something is definitely on the list, anything right from the resort?
Sterling Pond is the obvious choice from the resort. You can then hike south along the Long Trail to the summit of Spruce Peak at Stowe and look down the valley. I prefer the Sterling Pond trail in the Notch for access but you can get there right from the resort - https://www.smuggs.com/pages/pdf/map...map_s22WEB.pdf
A quick drive through the Notch (which you should do either way) and you get to Stowe and have lots of hiking options that even your 5yo will enjoy - check out Wiessner Woods, Sterling Gorge, and Moss Glen Falls.
There’s the map I’ve been looking for, thanks!
I say hike from the resort because I can send the gf back with the younger ones if they can’t make the full trek.
This will be a good feeler for the ex to take the older 2 up mt. monadnock a week later.
