Ski rat, you'll need the 6.5?mm version for inserts. The one sold by binding freedom has a stop. Mine's pretty old and I don't think chamfers the hole like the Wintersteiger/SVST/Montana/???.
That may be true on standard tips, but the 1/4" has been manufactured by SVST. It's an American specialty thing and not main stream Euro.
They now own and fabricate (or have fabricated) Jigarex and Binding Freedom products, including screws. Alpine screws, brass and nylon inserts are by Snoli. Maybe some drill bits for them and others, too.
SVST were machinists before ski tool makers. They make all of their guides and other ski tools. They switch gears for the off season and fabricate very nice fly fishing reels. It's pretty cool to watch.

I have. A newbie mounting a ski is still a newbie.
Huh?
Not sure I understand what you are saying
Shop guys never use collars ever.
Wintersteiger 3.5x9.5 and 4.1x9.5 and 3.6x9 are the most common bits at every shop in the world.
Drop down to 7 for the kids ski, good to go all day, everyday

That's a pretty thorough list, shit happens even in the most controlled of environments.
Wrong direction on twins has not happened yet, ski tips go left on the bench.
The serial number and size will be legible on the sidewall and the mounting info underfoot, will also be easily read.
However if the twins are symetric, we ask if they want to flop them.
It looks badass
