There are more down staters than upstaters - but those of us born in upstate and western ny know this

There are parts of central ny that are in upstate and some that are in southern Ny. I think of central ny as the leather stocking region

Doesn’t matter if you don’t think you live upstate because you live in wny, to the people who invented “upstate “ you’re upstate.

Hey. When I thought the part of NY I could see across the lake was the North Country, I was happy to visit. When someone say d it was upstate, I wasn't so sure anymore.
