updated vail, co
3-5 over night 1-3 tomm day
point forecast for bluesky 4-8 over night followed by 2-4.
time for a good old fashion shaped ski day.
see anyone up at vail tomm, all black tnf, red dakine, 183 bros.
once they hoisted the advisory it didn't snow a flake....really, not one flake. Some light snow this afternoon then dry until late week.
I thought Monarch reported 12 yesterday, so do they have 4 on the overnight? That would be about correct based on the picnic table shot, although upper mtn would obviously be doing better. Don't knwo if I can stomach a 6 hour round trip for that.

^^ Monarch is reporting 7" in the last 24 hrs, 16" in the last 48. Looks like Wolf Creek and their 28" in the last 48 hrs wins.
Barely any snow all day and no accumulation yet here in Vail. Currently not snowing at all.
I don't expect much of anything really until next week.
So lame since it's hammering down here in Littleton.
snowing in boulder
Well, Monarch definitely juiced the shit out of this storm. Yesterday was good, but today was unreal. The 16" in 48 they reported this morning was spot on, for the main mountain. Mirkwood was significantly deeper, allowing for massive body-fulls of creamy pow. After clearing up and almost going bluebird around noon, the clouds closed in and dropped an inch of groupel, before the nuckage began once again. from 2-4pm it dumped nonstop. Picked up another 4+ inches. Just kept getting better until the end!!
Never seen it snow as hard in Poncha Springs as it was this evening. At least two inches in an hour or so.
I really need to start bringing a camera to the resort. We were getting shit done today! Blower faceshots, frontflips under the lift, 45 degree double stagers in the Mirkwood Trees, Lincoln Loops, and more blower faceshots. Damn, I love winter!!!!
If anyone is debating skiing there tomorrow, just do it! You'll be glad you did...
Nice. Just saw this - just posted for any reports inbounds in the main forum. Don't think I'm finding a partner for the bc, so may check out the resort - haven't been there before - sounds like you're saying there's plenty of freshies left to be had? Mirkwood looks sweet.
If anyone wants to go down on Friday, I'm thinking about it- looks like more snow Thursday for the SW resorts.
I was just thinking that smmokan.... I'll roll with you
The storm on Thurs looks fast but the wind looks to be from the W/NW, meaning a better shot for snow for the Central and Northern Mtns. The storm over the weekend again looks like a SW flow, thus the San Juans.
Who wants to ski with me Friday? :D
I'm down for anywhere with a bunch of new snow.
NPG - I am in for sure! Let's see where the snow is and go from there. Work for you?
I'm headed to Wolf Creek this weekend. :D
Silverton this weekend :fmicon:
Sunday is looking like a $$$ day for the San Juans.
that wind for tomorrow looks SWerly now...who knows.
Just an hour ago they were predicting 3-6 inches for Thursday night near Monarch and now they say less than an inch is possible. This one's gonna be a roll of the dice and I got my fingers crossed
edit: NOAA switched that 3-6 for Thursday night to Vail area
^^^ Just watching the news and it looks like the storm is going more north than originally thought.
for vail,
from NOAA:
Quote:
Tonight: Snow. Low around 7. West southwest wind between 5 and 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of 6 to 10 inches possible.
