That will really suck for us if in 8-12 years people are still into whiskey.....

I'm guessing gin is getting more popular. I hear more people ordering gin cocktails and see gin taking up more prominent shelf space at the liquor stores.
I'm happy to report that Beefeater is still very affordable, available, and the best tasting London dry gin.
You're not kidding though. In the past year I've received, and enjoyed, gifts of Old Tom Gin, Botanist and (Great news!) James May's gin.
This is the current webpage for my neighborhood fancy pants liquor store if that gives you any indication of where gin is heading:

The Grey Whale gin is particularly good:

I don’t need to get fancy with gin but outside of beefeater for everyday wear and Old Tom for my Martinez’s, my favorite gin comes from St. George.

^^^ That St George dry rye gin is freaking great. It is hatefully dry. Love that stuff
Take it to the gin thread...
So back to the ops ask: recent favorite is Four Roses small batch select. 104 proof and delicious.
Wife found it reasonably priced at NH liquor store and brought it home.
Hot damn
I recently found a bottle of Little Booker Chapter 9 None for Granted. I haven't seen Little Booker in many years so I couldn't pass. A little different than I remember, but the heat is still there and I thought it was good bourbon. I like wheated bourbons more, but it has a nice lingering finish with the bite I've grown to enjoy on a high proof whiskey. I'm looking forward to sharing it with a family member that has said Little Book is one of her favorites.
Maybe as some of the big players fall off, the small, local distilleries are able to be successful,or at least reliably hold their own. Warning: good article but filled with shitty ads and popups :( Multiple Kentucky Whiskey Distilleries File for Bankruptcy - Newsweek https://share.google/cn2v8sP9Ni1V5bmb3
there were alot of articals in the spring telling me Canada sent all their American booze back so shop the deals as companies go under !
You wana grab the deals fast before Canada becomes the 51st and they start drinkin american booze again
There are also a whole bunch of other countries that are ordering less, or nothing, and domestic inventories are climbing. I was talking to a local distiller recently and she said her business is still ok but she is just waiting for the sky to fall. She was saying that soon enough she will have to drop her prices to where it is no longer profitable and the house of cards will collapse. I've been watching the retail prices drop in my local stores and hoping that I'll land on a small pile of extra $ so I can stock up.
Dealing with America has become a crap shoot ! Fuck nose what will happen to anyone who does so I wonder what other stuff besides the booze nobody wants to buy from America, trump is such a special genius lol !?
I remember when the Canadian dollar went way up maybe 15yrs ago people were saying thats awesume shit from across the line is so cheap to which I said well do you mayeb wana hang on to your money in case you dont have a job cuz at that exchange rate Canada can't ship porduct south TO make money
