What’s their problem? The family killed?

Maybe go back and read everything I’ve posted, including the account about how Israel decides on whether a strike is justified even if civilians are going to be killed.
I’ve not come anywhere close to voicing the position you seem to think I am.
If you think the 7k death toll is wrong, fine. It seems plausible to me given the number of targets hit.
I don’t have a clue about how many of those dead are civilian vs combatants, and I don’t have a clue about the strategic value of any of those targets.
But we’ve gone from ‘those numbers are off by a factor of 10’ to ‘who gives a shit’.
I’m seeking some clarity here, are you of a mindset that all Palestinians in Gaza are Hamas supporters and are basically animals? If that’s your stance, own it.
I don’t condone the actions of Hamas in any way, the issue in the region is a little more complicated. I don’t want to see any people killed. If you think the answer is bombing and invading Gaza and killing anyone that is there will work then you haven’t been paying attention. If that’s the tactic then you’re going to have to destroy every secular Muslim country in SW Asia and North Africa. Seriously, military action might satisfy a need for revenge but any peace will be short lived and shit will get even uglier.

High's emotions about Islamic people are skewed from a traumatic experience he had in the ME. It makes no sense to take what he says as sensible. No reason to debate him. I've met older boomers who still hate all Germans or Japs or Americans as the result of the trauma they suffered as kids living on the WWII battle front.
^ It's a big part of the surreal dynamic separating Israel-Palestine from a lot of other geopolitical concerns, including the fate of hostages. Hamas kidnapped American citizens as well as Canadians along with citizens from many other countries. It isn’t just Israelis. A few people here argued Israel / American SOF had to go in and rescue them but dropped concern for the hostages after realizing an invasion was not about rescue.
Meanwhile Senior White House officials in recent weeks have been leading “listening sessions” with small groups of people. Two were held in recent days: One with Muslim, Arab and Palestinian staffers and another with Jewish staff.
And House Speaker Mike Johnson said during a prior visit to Israel, "Many of us conservatives have reservations about the two-state solution because as a Bible-believing Christian I don't see a place for that." While the left argues anyone who doesn't want to drive Jewish people into the sea are insufficiently radical.

Seems to me that if Hamas had overwhelming support for their cause they’d be able to recruit a lot more than 10-30k.

A significant degree of consensus exists around the date range of the baby boomer cohort, with the generation considered to cover those born from 1946 to 1964 by various organizations such as the Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary,[28] Pew Research Center,[29] U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics,[30][31] Federal Reserve Board,[32] Australian Bureau of Statistics,[33] Gallup,[34] YouGov[35] and Australia's Social Research Center.[36] The United States Census Bureau defines baby boomers as "individuals born in the United States between mid-1946 and mid-1964".[37][38] Landon Jones, in his book Great Expectations: America and the Baby Boom Generation (1980), defined the span of the baby-boom generation as extending from 1946 through 1964.
The 2 state solution as most understand it is a mere fantasy because no major Palestinian faction actually supports it today, nor did they support it even back when most Israelis still did (1948~2010). There is no way to implement in a way that would allow Israel security and have acceptance by Palestinians at the level that would have the Palestinians end major terror attacks and rocket strikes, even if you could get an agreement, which is impossible. That realization is shitty for many (me included), because there isn't a good alternative either... but it is reality.
OK, Boomer.
Boomer was my mistake. Should have said Pre Boomers. Like the lady I met who got the shakes just from seeing a rising sun flag and the German lady who was 8 in Berlin in the early 1940's
Don't be a dumbfuck. J. Barron Shadeen was dispensing strategic advice to Israel, with the stated goal of seeing them benefit politically from their response to the most recent Palestinian pogrom that killed so many Israeli kids.
I told him that was their problem, with the implication that J. Barron Shadeen was not a paid strategic advisor to anyone, much less Israel, who he/she evidently thinks is outside its rights in its temporary occupation of Muslim lands in the Levant.
I agree proposals for a 2-state solution are dead on arrival for the foreseeable future. Running on a parallel track however is a great howling weirdness driving so much of the decision making. In a lot ways Israelis and Palestinians are locked together with big-power global interests. It's hard to see anyone who is benefiting including even right-wing ultra-Orthodox Israelis.

I thought you might go back even further, like when you met the boyar princess who was traumatized by the Wallachian invaders under the leadership of Vlad Dracula. Imagine seeing row upon row of men impaled through their rectums lined up like human popsicles along the road outside of one's town?
Anyway, I'm sure glad Joe was able to talk Bibi into waiting to start WWIII giving Joe time to tell the Arabs to chill and get on board somehow.
Lol. It's nice to see some of the old you occasionally.
Right. They just don't want two states. They have a very singular purpose.
That's the neighborhood my FIL grew up in before getting dragged off to the camps when he was 18. It sounds like, other than that Dracula guy, it was a really nice place.
