Huh, that may be him! He (or someone who looks like him) was taking rocks embedded in the ground on Corvair last night near the top first switchback, which is an area that isn't really technical or annoying.

Good thing I had a spare blade at home... Limped to the car from the top of Brighton, not fun without the front brake, drove down the canyon, fixed the fucker, drove right back up and banged out another lap around Solitude. I have 2 more blades coming and I have 2 hangers in the parts bin. No way a mechanical is going to sideline me for a month!
Give it another couple weeks and those holes will reach down to bedrock...Quote:

As I begun to descend MM from the pinecone intersection towards Spiro, I was so excited to ride the old switchbacks that used to be there. I was quickly snapped out of my nostalgic daze and saddened. Oh well. Hardly anyone out this evening. Climbing upper cmg to apex was a fun old school way up to silver queen.

Your friendly reminder that Armstrong>canyons is generally free of traffic, and that insurgent is still rowdy as ever. Vail really blew it with routing the last bit of ricochet where it comes out under the lift but I’ll take that as long as insurgent and ricochet still exist.

trying to put together a 26 (hopefully exactly) mile ride in the "cooler temperatures" area (PC or somewhere close to SLC) that has sub 3k climbing. Shuttle is OK, multiple shuttles or shuttle + bus bump is ok. Any fun ideas?

It's a bit over on vert, but you could cut some out by starting with Corvair or 9K instead.
I was going to say mid mountain as well. I did a ride from the montage to pinebrook that clocked in at 29 miles, 2000 vert and you could cut out a few miles by catching a bus at Albertson's instead of going to the ecker hill park n ride. We used the buses to get up to the trailhead and get back to town. It's one of my wife's favorite rides in PC. https://www.strava.com/activities/2571120459
Not sure what's going on with the bus system up there since Summit County and PC split transit duties so it may be more of pain to get back into PC at the end of the day.

Anyone have a tire bead jack that I could borrow? I got some new e13 tires and cannot for the life of me get the tire on the rim.
Some pics from last night. Got up Alta during the sunset then did the rest of the ride in the dark. BMT has got to be a strong contender for best trail in northern Utah especially when they're not letting people bring bikes up the tram. The cool temps felt real nice
