I was just trying to guilt Rideit to come join a ride. Using the old “everyone but you” has joined at least one ride.
There are actually a few that haven’t made it yet.
I’m just glad the attendance has been strong.

It worked on me.... I felt guilty... I have been riding a lot tho and getting into it. Used my drips to get a pair of DT Swiss wheels today!

Tour de Zwift stage 7 “Jungle and Gravel”
For this stage’s laps on the Jungle Circuit am I best to buy a Gravel Bike or a Mountain Bike?
I’m level 18 with 800k drops.
So for Gravel I could get the Cervelo Aspero (better rated than the Canyon Inflite).
OR do I go MTB?
Scott Spark, Canyon Lux, S-Works Epic....
Any advice or even a link to an article explaining the rolling resistance difference.
OR just use the default Zwift MTB and save my drops for something I can use 99.9 of the time on the roads?
Copied from someone’s Reddit post if this helps

Hey did anyone else beside me do the long (A) TdZ stage 6? It's four laps of our TGR Innsbruck loop. Did it yesterday alongside 600 others. Took one lap for packs of ~20 to form which then merged and unmerged for the remaining 3 laps. Full gas up the hill each time.
If I read this correctly the MTB gains me 17 seconds per lap (8km) over the gravel bike.
But the gravel bike gains me 19 seconds on the pavement run in (5.5km) to the jungle course.
MTBike run in -19s
Lap 1 +2s
Lap 2 +19s
Lap 3 +36s
Lap 4 +53s
Gravel bike run in +19
Lap 1 +2s
Lap 2 -15s
Lap 3 -32s
Lap 4 -49s
seems right to me
you can also switch bikes midway - and at some point I read about how you can do this quickly to minimize time spent doing that - but not sure if that is in keeping with proper "style" :)
I did a bit of math once I got home and on the computer. Took the Zwift Insider bike tests and made up a virtual time for the TDZ Stage 7 (constant 300 watts at 75kg)
Based in the minimal time difference I think I'm going to save my DROPS for future buys and just use the standard issue Zwift MTB.

The whole Zwift mountain bike thing is just annoying to me.
^^ 100%. Jungle used to be great, then they unpaved it. Gravel is great in real world and dumb in Zwift.
Also won't make it tonight, just got back from long long road trip to chase rare good PA skiing @ Elk
Riding fat bikes in Driggs, Out until next Tuesday, when I will come out of nowhere, and smoke you all. :FIREdevil:rolleyes:
I got a new hat and new sunglasses tonight. You might not recognize me, so just look for the big yellow arrow over my head.

Sorry I left right away. My HR was maxed and I dialed 9-1-.... and had to lay on the floor with my finger on the other 1.
Wendigo, good push at the end.
I have some work to do if I'm to have a chance of hanging on lap 3... hoo dang.
Wish I could have joined today but pushing at work this week to get sheathing up to support the truss package on Thursday! I sure love framing in 0 deg temps... not!
Gotta focus and get through stage 6 tonight...
Work is getting in the way of these meetups. Also have a conflict on Thurs dangit. Glad you're all having fun.
I have been riding/training/skiing too much. Had to take one day off. That's my lame-o excuse tonight.
^^ true story, the long ski days really mess with the TDZ performance. #1stworldproblem
Stage 6 was fun!
I had a technical difficulty mid way through Stage 5 so I have to redo it. (drunk wife fell down steep galley stairs and I had to help, though I did not want to as I was non plussed with the inebriation and quite involved in the race. Objectively the clip I caught is hilarious in a domestic dysfunction sort of way and would probably go viral if I released to the world...)

I’m not going to feel sorry for you if you’re not going to use you’re power up.
