Hello!
Two friends of mine (lovely, Norwegian girls, btw ;)) are flying to Torino tomorrow. They are renting a car and have planned to stay at least one night in Alagna. I think they should go further east and north.
If someone has recommendations, that would be greatly appreciated!

more precip on the way. snow levels will be an issue. at leats in sw france it could rain to 2000m. 1500m in cham id guess. this is for the system hitting on wednesday. it will be warmest on thursday.
the pattern doesn't change. western airflow with warmth and moisture, then northwestern airflow with cooler air and moisture. no end in sight. this could turn into another 99. :eek: :FIREdevil
next sytem will hit friday. and another big one might hit monday(though we're moving into the "hey anything can happen" timescale....and it is not certain) aye caramba. cham would be in the epicenter all the time but NW /N switz and the rest of france would get their share too.
if this turns out like it seems cham would hit 4-4.5m easily at 2000m :eek: :eek:
Well it was pretty nice in Les2Alpes this weekend gone. Wildstyle and I found some v nice stashes (one in particular...)
Looks like my trip to Monte Rosa in 10 days may be off the hook :biggrin:

not as much snow in the arlberg, but its been firing on all cylinders. skied about 40cm of fresh in stuben and sonnenkopf today and it's still nking on that side of the pass. not too much open yet...

A very bad year so far, and the recent dumpage wont help.

Today was up to plenty of face shots in some spots - Jungbrunntobel and Rendl were off the hook today. Bring your snorkels!:FIREdevil

Yesterday was absolutely epic, 1 meter of super light new snow on the Jochstock side meant 700 meters of facshots, repeated all afternoon. I'm not really sure of the name of the area I've been skiing, but traverse skiers right off the top of Jochstock and ski that down to the lake next to Trubsi. Kinda next to the Steinberg.
Laub was good but tracked up, hugging the ridge gave freshturns all the way down.
Brunni side was really good in the morning, traversed skiers right off the Poma out to the next bowl over and skied down to the trainstop below Engelberg.
Easily the best day of skiing I've ever had. Morning was storm skiing on the Bruni side, afternoon was bluebird pow on the Titlis side. Not too bad.
the nextwave is hitting right now.
then another on friday.
get it as long as you can.
snow levels will rise today to 1200-1400m i'd guess.
much lower again on friday afternoon.
and then it looks like summertime from sunday on :(
i hope the italian low on friday sets the circulation right and prevents this....or else im screwed....

arno, it will be boring because you will skin instead of using the lift, but there's a lot of snow right now and more is coming
yes, I should count my blessings. I was thinking of cancelling a few weeks ago due to lack of snow
skinning on Legend Pros is hard work, but I did put Freerides on them so I don't have any excuses :rolleyes2

Today at Les Grands Montets -- snow from last night and the day before seemed to be 30-60cm I suppose, hard to guess since it was all a sludgy thick mess due to snow-rain limit being so high. Should be better up higher but then there were winds as well, so, basically the base just keeps getting better in Chamonix but the last storm hasn't delivered a great deal.
Somebody give me ideas, I want to do a road trip. How's things over in Switzerland? Other French resorts? I want to ski pow!!! Anybody up for it?
was better up high but not much opened in cham...yesteday afternoon very late the aig opened for a select few who happened to be "hanging" around 1m of new wind affected snow and variable vis. forecast for today is slightly better but many lifts remain closed....
another 20-30 is in the forecast for tonight better weather expected for monday!!!
