Bwhahahahahahaha!!!! Sadly, that's not the case. Here you see yours truly helping Pu finish the pitcher. In the background we have some Mammy eye candy leaving the Laka Nuki.

Bumping because discussions on the hill today peaked my interest for one more Summit. Word is a film crew will document the whole event for a new pilot that combines all the cheesy suspense elements of Survivor, Fear Factor, and Extreme Dating.
Oh fuck, a film crew? I better get a haircut.Quote:

Met 13 tonight, what a great guy.
A post skiing bump. I forgot how much fun corn is.
Yoga--Any word on the condo? Inquiring minds want to know.
I dropped the ball on the condo because no one ever contacted me to book it with any real seriousness and I didn't want to get stuck with the tab. There are so many condos available this time of year that are reasonably priced. I can lead you guys in the right direction, if interested.Quote:

Actually, I shouldn't be hassling you about being a poor ass ski bum. I'm so broke right now that I'm not sure I can go...:(
Well, since it's this weekend, I guess I should chime in as well. Anybody leaving from SoCal Friday and coming back Sunday want to get together for the drive? And, has there been a camping spot estabilshed?
It's been nearly 2 months since I've been on skis. Can't. Freaking. Wait.
Lookin better all the time......Bullet, are you gonna be there?
I'd like to propose a mad, MAD steeze day at Mammoth for one of the days this coming weekend at the mini. Anyone FEELIN' IT?! I'd like to propose Saturday to be the day of the steeze. C'mon, let's celebrate the real beginning of spring snow!!
Oh, yeah, I don't know where we'll be camping....but I hear the deli-shop at the bottom of Tioga pass is a good meeting point on Friday night. Say, 9:30-10pm-ish?? Anyone with me here? YAY - can't wait!!!
I'll be at the bar at night. I'll show myQuote:

A truism.
See you Friday eve.:D
CS, I'm in woodland hills and looking for a car pool, though I'm lacking the required gear to go camping. Can someone who has some free time look into the condo or hotel room? Please? If this falls through, I guess I'll be begging for tent space and using my shitty sleeping bag.Quote:

I believe there's at least 3 of us who are seriously interested in a soild roof over our heads and others waiting for something to come together. Those three:
Myself
Yogachick
Arty50
Splat?
Antisocal?
Buller?
Buller?
I might have one. I'll know tomorrow.
Looks like a system is moving in for the weekend, just for us...
Any suggestions of where to set up the base camp for the weekend (for those of us who will be sleeping out under the stars).
June Lake campgrounds have worked well for me in the past...
For campground discussion and information click here. The RV Park in town and Sherwin Campground are both open.Quote:

Speeelat!!! I was just going to call around to find a condo. If you're already working on it, I'll hold off. Let's coordinate efforts.
Aside from the hot springs(which are quite a haul to get to), I think Glass Creek would be a good option. It's just north of the rest area right off the 395. It's free, has pit toilets, plenty of shade, easy to find when drunk, lots of sites to choose from, it's quiet, and so far this spring has been nearly vacant.Quote:

Btw, nice, NICE pics, Haus! Can't wait til next weekend.
Ok, lunchtime is officially over! Back to work.
bump. just coz...
If memory serves me right, I don't think it's closer then the springs (except for the Little Hot Creek hot springs). It does have some facilities, though.. Haus - do they charge for 'em?Quote:

Wait a second.. is the back road open yet (the one from 1/2 way up the road out towards June)? IF it is, then Glass Creek is WAY closer.
Yeah, pretty much all of the roads should be open now. The Mammoth "Emergency exit" should be fully plowed (I believe it is all year).

Ok, at least it's hump day. I mean, where the hell is Friday already? I'd like to take this moment to proclaim my neverending problem = I live for weekends. I was talking to a co-worker yesterday just before lunch and said, "I can't wait til this weekend - it's going to be off the hook!" And she said, "You know, it's Tuesday. You have nearly an entire week yet. The weekend just ended." Ok, well, fine. At least I can spend my lunch hours going to the ski store to buy wax and ptex, and dream of taking off this Friday. Is this a problem? Am I wacked? The job is great (I have a review today...), but damn why is my mind always creating new or thinking about current weekend plans? [/random dialog for the day]
So, Glass Creek it is! Let's all meet there at 10pm-ish on Friday. Can't wait. Splat, you better show up and join the mayhem.

I also vote for glass creek. I believe its free and there is cool stuff there (bouldering, lava flows for you geo geeks)
Because skiing kicks ass. Oh, and I tried to fit my old snake skins on your PR's and its a no go. Tip hook will not go around those big ass tips. Sorry.Quote:

I'm definitely in for a condo. I'm even willing to book one (I'm not a travel agent, but I play one on the Internet). I'm thinking a cheap 2 bedroom is the way to go. If someone else is already on this, let me know. If you want in PM me or something.
edit - started new thread instead.

The sad thing is that I know who you're refering to. Unfortunately, I don't get it. It must be something that dude would have said...
I might have some that she could use. I'll bring 'em and see.Quote:

I've got a pair of skins that might fit too. But the might also be a bit too wide and long (trimmed for 183 TDs). I'll talk to a buddy in the area that may be able to help out with a loaner pair.
KICK ASS! My advance on my first paycheck just arrived. I'm in! :D
Nater - I CALL SHOTGUN!
So Glass Creek it is. I pretty sure we're thinking of the same springs, exit 395 at the airport and also down by the church? Then at least 10-15 minutes of washboard, dusty, dirt road route finding until the springs. I just feel that's a lot of work to get to an oftentimes crowded area where we most likely won't have our pick of spots.Quote:

Glass Creek is what...7 or so miles up 395 from 203 and takes 20 minutes to get to from the mountain. It's totally free, nobody's there, has pit toilets, and some tables and fire rings.
I am on jury duty for the rest of the week, so that means I don't have to pull my usual no sleep, Friday all-nighter. I get to drive up Friday afternoon like all the normal people and I plan on pulling in around 10 p.m.
