And, those cars are absolutely beautiful. I have a lot of admiration for somebody that has the patience to wrack their damn knuckles over and over again.
I griptaped my friend's longboard for her.. Does this make this thread nsfw?

Not nearly as crafty as your deck Root, awesome work, but this sucker was a real bitch.
Built by my brother & I. Everything you see in the pics was hand carried up 36 stairs. Yes, i have 36 stairs to get to my deck.

i put it in the garden thread but I built the garden fence (not the perimiter fence)...just finished it up:

holy crap that's a big garden.
yup, and there's another 15' or so out of the frame on the near side.
Its a work in progress. Little radishes, and potatoes, and beans, and carrots, and turnips, and cucumbers, and zuchini's, and lettuces, and cabbages, and cauliflowers, spinach. They're all going to grow here.
At a friend's 50th b-day last summer, I must have had too much to drink.... I volunteered to "help" an artist friend put a skylight in his "flat" roof. It was a lot more work (as usual!), but it was actually very satisfying. He's super pysched and now we have three new paintings which we really love. (We only buy (or barter) art from people we know. Our logic being, that way they mean something to us.)
BEFORE (Okay, he's kind of a bachelor, so interesting decor...):

As you can see, I flared the opening out quite a bit which I think is key for bringing in more light. All I did is install LVL headers at 45* on the sides and build up from there.

It's motorized, too (VERY KEY!!!) and I angled it so that when fully open, it still sheds water if it rains (it does have a rain sensor, though).

So far, no leaks either, even after this great winter!
^^WHOA!^^
You are not supposed to leave Grace Vycor Plus or Grace Ice and Water Shield exposed to sunlight for over 30 days. It will break down when left exposed to sunlight.
Also, Grace Ice and Water Shield is not chemically compatible with EPDM - http://www.graceathome.com/pages/dow.../GIWS-060P.pdf
Grace Vycor Plus is not designed for roofing details.
You should of used EPDM. Sorry to say, but this thing will leak.
It's been properly rubber-roofed. I almost made a mention of that, and didn't think anyone would notice, but NOTHING gets by in here!!! :D
Built this with the wife over the span of 6 months:

That includes all work to swap in a WRX motor and transmission, wiring harness merging, plus new brakes, suspension, stereo, bushings, hubs, etc.
details here
Thats a sick looking car! The red and gold look really good.
That car looks very impressive and I admire you patience and skills in doing the work. I would have lost the plot trying to sort all those wires out.
Here are two bathrooms I did at a friends house.

Nice, this project is on my short list. a little scary cutting a hole in the roof while it's still under warranty. I was thinking this same design to bring in direct winter sun, and block the summer sun.
There are some very talented people on this board!! It's unreal what a dream and a little drive can accomplish, this thread is trully inspiring!

We built this tipi using extra saplings from a visiting sculptor at school and the rest is the bottom of a tent that was rotting in the woods. It only took about two hours to get it up and then a few sessions after to make it airtight.....
Not as cool as the engines and home woodworking... but a bit of woodworking none the less.

Each took over 100 hours of build time.
Having seen these firsthand, I can tell you that there are a few mms of camber underfoot and perhaps 25 cm of early-rise or rocker or whatever you want to call it. I'm stoked to ski these some time as I am guessing from the shape, camber, weight, and flex that they will rip.
more like 40 cm or rocker
