Sounds good, thanks for the update!
I will show up around April 10, catch the end of WSSF, see the Swollen Members show, and ski until closing day.

With no new lift installs this summer lets hope for a bit more maintenance on the existing lifts. Even with all the recent upgrades the lift infrastructure is definitely showing its age. I really cant imagine this is happenstance. Its got to be a direct result of Vail ownership. Theyve emphasized new lifts over keeping the old lifts running well.

Lift issues seem to be happening all over the place though, not just at Vail resorts.
Probably the same cause, though: cheaping out and/or delaying maintenance.
How’s the snow holding up ? Planning to visit next week. Can I expect some powder ?

was 15C in Squamish yesterday and is currently 5C on the peak. https://whistlerpeak.com/temps/
14mm of rain at Pig Alley. 1 cms of snow. Was well above freezing all day and night
We had Blackcomb backcountry all to ourselves today and it was so much better than expected!! Pow pow.
Not sure if they'll open Glacier or Spanky's tomorrow with significant avy debris on the ski out.
Have a couple photos but just couldn’t figure out how to post them even referring to the FAQ.
Damn, so the 2 day edge card I got in November, but am not using til this weekend is going to cost me an extra $100 now? https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...ef90055034.jpg
You might want to check the date on that...
^lol. Yeah no goods crossing the border, you're buying a service in Canada and using it in Canada.
A Mr. Alan J. Erickson had this letter published in Pique:

Vail Resorts asked me for a review. This is it.
Boombox music at the base of Creekside, Big Red, and Crystal lifts accompanied by singing and dancing DJ/lift operators is safety-disconcerting at worst and a total annoyance at best. I thought I was going skiing, not to a nightclub! The competing blaring music between the Red Chair base and the Raven’s Nest is a cacophony of noise distracting from the skiing experience. Not to mention waking up the bears out of their sweet hibernations.
Your approach here is unsustainable and an insult to the sport. Get your act together! And while you’re at it groom both Upper & Lower Peak to Creek more often—so many times I’ve talked to your Epic-Passeurs who are so disappointed in their trips here because they couldn’t ski the best-known run on the mountain.
Really, how much could doing this negatively impact your craven shareholders?
Personally I like the music. He probably has a point with Peak to Creek, but I recognize that that's got to be a resource intensive run to groom and would mean less grooming elsewhere.
So, when I go skiing I usually have some sort of foil-wrapped chocolates in my pocket, and toss 'em out to people who seem to have good vibes or just generally look like they might want a treat. The liftys at Whistler with the big JBL boxes with the tunes cranked got tossed a chocolate every time. I hope they never stop.
P2C does need to be groomed once in a while more often though, that is certain. They could close the lower portion and groom it during the day here and there if they really wanted to. I remember being a kid at Whistler back in the late 80's early 90's and seeing groomers out and about during regular operating hours. Guess they must've ran over someone once, got sued, and don't do that anymore.
Keep the music, ditch whoever wrote the review.

I just used my final Edge Card day today. Got in a dozen laps then headed home to Seattle. I skied Blackcomb and it was shockingly empty. I figured Whistler would be busier today since it was the last day of ops there, but wow. I never even had to share a chair or gondola cabin.

Pretty great weekend. I got out early Saturday through today and got in a ton of skiing. 27 lift rides on Saturday alone.

Great news! Kirsten Lynch is out as Vail boss.
The new saviour of Vail is........Rob Katz.
I'm not sure if I'm crying tears of sadness or laughing so hard I'm crying.
You can't make this stuff up.
Anywho, I'm sure this will solve all of the problems.
Katz is back and summer skiing on horstman permanently cancelled. Coincidence?https://www.powder.com/news/whistler...iing-cancelled
I like to shit on Vail as much as the next guy, but I don't think we can pin the glacier melting away on Rob Katz (who skis in jeans, incidentally)
