Looks like the Revolt 121 just dropped off my wish list…

2251 @ 177? That's a fuckin heavy ski.
I don't think anyone reaches for the 121 in deep pow, it's a playful-shape hero-snow ski that has the weight to be damp and the extra width is consequential. The 114 looks to be a trimmed and refined version of that ski.
At one time being a Volkl guy…now with a Moment quiver of 2……should I just get a pair of 22-23 Kendo’s for the hell of it and turn it into my rock ski?
MDV shop price is too low to pass up….?
Any info on rec mount point for the new Revolt 114? Would prefer it in a 180-181 vs 177.
Mounting my Volkl Revolt 104s today with STH. Rec looks to be -1.5cm and I’m mounting mine at -3.5cm.

Been on mine the last 3 days. They are little rocket ships.

How thin do you think those bases are...Should I? Unicorn goats aren't that common these days..
I mean those have Naxos that aren’t busted. They probably weren’t skied much.
Blaze 112 also incoming.
This is probably better for the extinct skis thread, but I just picked up a minty set of 2012 (I think?) Gotama's with demo bindings dirt cheap and am curious about them. I generally like stiffer, heavy, full rocker skis and I feel like I remember a few folks here loving them. Anyone here still rocking this vintage?
Picked up some 2010/2011 Katanas on here not long ago. Pretty damn fun. 183s...wish they were like 187+ though.
Stiffer…I guess so, heavy…yep, full rocker…definitely. I thought I would like this ski, but we never clicked. So dead…almost too dead, but without the damp crusher feel of the Katana from the same era. Curious to hear what you think.

Revolt 104 and 114? Are these “playful chargers?” Comparisons to others? Am I not reading posts carefully enough?
Ruby Mtn Heli is selling their Volkl fleet from last year. Pretty nice price on Revolts 121s and Blaze 106

Picked up these old 191 full rocker m4 mantras in amazing shape off CL. Dropped some used clamps I had stashed right in the holes, gonna see what's what. Skinny katana is what a couple folks have said, stoked to give them a whirl.
LT you can have 'em next!https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...bb02ef65e5.jpgAttachment 438006

bry,
Anxious to hear your take. Was thinking just this weekend how good that ski would have been for the conditions I was skiing. Making space for them in the corral right now.

Drooling. Getting lots of early season groomer laps on my Mantras has me imagining how sweet it could be on some Kendos. I recently went down the rabbit hole of 87-90mm all-mountain ski reviews, and they seem like perfection. If I came across a deal right now, I don’t think I could resist.
my local rep was telling me the revolt 114 is going to be more of a freeride ski than freestyle ski. So will have a further back mounting spot than the 104/121, but still with that heavier damp volkl feel like the 121. I'm excited to try it once he gets the demo mounted up soon.
This is exciting news! Looking forward to info on the 3D sidecut specs, mount point, and of course…how they ski.

I have two days on my Kendo 88 184. Precise, stable, and smooth. The triple side cut seems the most dialed of the 3D bunch. Skied my Brahma 180s, 2016 model with the minimal camber, back to back with the Kendo. Brahmas now for sale.

My sub-90 ski is a 187 Brahma. I’ve stayed away from the Kendo since I think I would have the same outcome you just experienced. Maybe I should embrace it?!

They also have a higher top end than my 180 Brahmas. And they just are more fun as are all my Volkls when I compare them to my comparable Blizzard skis.

Pretty sure Iriponsnow is on a kendo for harder snow, he raved about it last year. Enough so that it really interests me as well.
I'm on 191 K108 and keep falling in love with it every time I take it out, pretty much perfect DD for bigger places like Alta/Bird. Wondering how much sense it makes to get on 184 Mantra M6 as a hard snow, low tide ski? Or should I go down in width and start eyeing Kendo 88?

Is 184 long enough for you? The K108 skis like a fat M102; the M6 is different enough you will notice, but it is still a mantra and in the same ballpark. But they have 191.
The Kendo is when you get a different kind of ski entirely and the design is pushed towards dedicating to on-piste/hardpack/on-edge performance. That's where you won't have any overlap, but..184..
I think it makes tons of sense to try an M6. Although, if the 191 K108 is easy for you, the M6 might feel like a toy.

I plan on using them in different conditions and terrain. 184 M6 would see more use when I'm skiing with my family but can still drop my hips in a link of carved turns. K108 in 191 is when I want to get closer to my limits or ski a terrain that I won't take my kid to.
When I used to live back east Monster 98 in 184 was plenty of ski for me.

I have both the M6 and the Kendo 88 both 184. Lots of time on the M6 on hard snow. So far only three days on the Kendo 88. Better on firm than than the M6 and liking the fact that it’s more nimble and overall better in the bumps. Stable for me at 50 mph with no tip chatter. Could easily see myself traveling with just two pair of skis, the Kendo and my K108. For reference I’m 187 lbs.

Yesterday I gifted myself some Christmas Volkls.
VW Katana 191 with flawless top sheets and slightly scratched bases, were mounted once with Griffons. Immediately put ATK FR14 at +2 due to hole overlap. M6 in 184 was previously mounted for tele, probably 3-5 days on snow, will be mounted with Griffons that I pulled from VW Katanas, would have done it today but ran out of plugs and bamboo sticks.
