RidEgg Trail Pistol? Looks like they don't have SLX under the options but pretty sure they could set that up.

I wouldnt be surprised if canfield has something reasonably priced to fill that niche. Im guessing its only a matter of time before the revised toir/riot comes out. New balance and one look amazing. The One is a badass bike

I hope they sell that Trance X as a frame only in the aluminum.

The 2. I think it is an amazing deal for what you get. I had been trying to find a Norco Fluid FS 1, shorter travel but another great spec for a great price, but none to be sourced, and then I found the X and jumped on it. Dealer said they had gotten 10 in and I grabbed the last one, they were all gone in a week.
Trance x might be the first giant id put at the top of the list. They went all out on that thing. Surprised they put that much standover and added a flip chip

Giant makes a good bike every 5 years or so. Now they'll sit back, make the same bike for the next 5-6 years until it's a couple years overdue for a revamp, then come out with something worthwhile again.
Kona operates on more or less the same business model.
Might be just a coincidense but both kona and giant have an X tremely good bike for "21

still rocking this 6 seasons later. Trance Sx. Even if I get new FS bike this bike still shreds and I am unlikely to part with it considering its worth pennies to what is invested., just so glad I bought the size I wanted and not what the Giant Rep wanted me on which was a small or Medium. Size L = 440mm reach which at 5'8 is a great reach number but its large size small or a small size medium in 2021 sizing. I even managed to cram a 180mm one-up dropper into it.

The new Giant Trance X might be how I get more modern geo(namely a steeper STA) slightly longer reach, and 29er wheels, hopefully I can get 2.6 inch on 35mm rims on it. Also hoping I can get a 210mm one-up dropper on it. Ill either get the cheap Carbon or the cheap AL and pimp it out. My only real complaint is press fit BB.....The completes also are 35mm bars which IMO suck.
I said fuck it, and pulled the trigger on a lightly-used Forbidden Druid frame off PB this weekend. It'll take me some time to build it up given the current component supply chain situation, but I'm planning on going Cane Creek suspension (DB Inline Coil, Helm II), I-9 wheels, and XT drivetrain.
So after dis’ing the whole downcountry thing I keep looking at bikes in this class. Anyone have any saddle time on an Intense Sniper T?
I bought a new bike that was and model as my old bike. Figured I liked old bike and was confused with all the choices. I like it and and ride it. It rides well with more travel and better components. I just need more air in the shock cause apparently I weigh 200. Too many bikes confusing me. Is that their plan?

speaking of the bike industry, sounds like sram and shimano are fubard and new bike launches are super fubard. was looking into the nice and slack SA Slash and it's hopeless until late spring...and then prodeal is a definite no go.
will drivetrains become the next toilet paper?
I am still trying to dial in my new bike. Do not need more bikes! Except maybe a dirt bike

You definitely need a dirt bike. Pedal bikes are good but not this good

Ha!
Does a 5010 fit that description?
I rode a Salsa Rustler last year, and that thing was pretty sweet. I don't know what you call that, but it's 150-130mm, like a Hightower gen1 I guess. So what is a Hightower? Not really an Enduro and certainly not an XC.
When are they gonna start mixing up at the fat bike terms
IDK what that is, but it's sexy af.
Now that I have a new-to-me car, I guess it's time to save up for and/or finance a new bike.
Shit, there's always Trek. My LBS is down the alley and they are a client of mine and I thiers. Very symbiotic. Fuel EX looks nice. Do you really have to use their proprietary stem though?

Rode 70 miles Sunday. Some dirt roads but mostly high quality singletrack and saw hardly any other trail users. With how hot and dry it’s been this summer it’s been really nice to have moto as an option.
Have an option for 2003 Honda 600 dirt bike. Just have to get it here. Grew up on dirt bikes Bikes over 50000 miles in life on all types of bikes

Just found the YT Izzo in my downcountry shopping/dreaming journey. Value seems great and reviews speak to me on climbing performance and downhill capability.
Comparing to Spur/Sniper/etc I’m curious: does the change to a Fox 34 Float Elite/Float Factory make a truly noticeable difference to a suspension newb compared to the lighter Fox Step Cast and SidUltimate on other, lighter downcountry offerings? Can someone make a ski analogy there for me - that’s what I speak...

What do you weigh?
