Well this one looks promising!!! Will definitely watch it when released. I just wish it was getting a theatrical release because it honestly looks like it may deserve one. Check out the trailer:

OFFICIAL COMPETITION
If you enjoy the films of Pedro Almodovar and Fernando Leon de Aranoa, then you will dig this.
Tour de force performances from Penelope Cruz, Antonio Banderas, and Oscar Martinez, combined with a sharp and witty screenplay by directors Gaston Duprat and Mariano Cohn, along with Andres Duprat make for a wonderfully biting satire of the movie business.
Holy crap. Watch this one stat! It's Signs meets Invasion of the Body Snatchers meets A24 productions. 1st act is truly frightening, then 2nd act has you like woah, then the finale has you totally mesmerized. WELL worth the watch. Please give this one a proper review, Dookey. I had a great time with this one tonight. 2 thumbs up.
And the main actress! What a performance!!!

If you’re still not watching Reservation Dogs, you need to. This last season has had some incredible episodes. Deer Lady was discussed up thread and this past week’s episode with Elora and her dad was also great. Surprised to see Ethan Hawke but damn did he bring it. Still amazed that the actress playing Elora wrote and directed that episode. Lots of talented kids on the show. Only one more episode to go before the end.
Only Murders in the Building has been solid background tv
^^ meh, I loathe musicals to a level of vitriol I can barely describe! I’m in S3 ep 3 and I’m about to quit, my wife is annoyed.

any fans of over the garden wall here?
it's on Hulu and it is my absolute favorite Halloween themed thing ever
it's a cartoon marketed towards ~10-14 year olds, and as someone who generally dislikes/does not watch any cartoons, it is absolutely magical. 10 or so 10 minute episodes, so it watches like a movie, and it is extremely sweet and funny and scary. and it's a musical.
absolute must watch. kid appropriate, grown up approved.

I know it's been discussed above, but I'm just now watching the Bear. Episodes 7,8,9 are so good, as crazy as Forks is, I think e8 is my favorite, the fire suppression test scene as they panned across the crew as the clock ticked down. Absolutely love the character development, dialogue, and tight shots. I'm going to start over from the beginning.
Shoresy
If you grew up as a rink rat playing hockey and then ever played in a mens beer league… you know.
I imagine The Handmaiden’s Tale was discussed elsewhere when it came out. I just watched the first 2 seasons. This show must have hit so hard back in 2017.
Starting Fargo binge…
HOW TO BLOW UP A PIPELINE
This is a wonderfully taut and streamlined little thriller that pounces out the gate with verve and intensity and maintains those qualities throughout its lean 104-minute running time. Filmed in an almost verite manner it feels like a hyped- up documentary. The incessant Blade Runner esque (ne Vangelis-styled) score creates a doom laden ambiance that permeates the film and adds loads of tension to the mix.
And the thespian turns from all involved are fervently restrained, emitting an undercurrent of slow burn magnetism that only adds to the overall action.

I just finished season 3 of Shoresy. It's a damn good show and would highly recommend especially if you're sitting on the couch feeling very 4-6.
Anyone else into Welcome to Wrexham? Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds purchase a soccer team in Wales. Good story and a well done documentary.
Endurance.
"For 110 years this ship was missing in Antarctica. An Oscar-winning duo bring us inside its discovery."
Shackleton's sunken ship.
gonna check it out.
highly recommend the book endurance by alfred lansing about the crew's survival and rescue.
Gonna check it out as well. Have read the book and it was great.

Paul sits down and talks with Rick Rubin in front of a mixing board... I never realized how progressive of a Bass player Paul was. Really good!

I just finished "Say Nothing" and I thought it was really good, especially if you have any interest at all in the Troubles/ Ireland.
finally finished The Bear. Crazy how one show can be so fucking good and so fucking annoying at the same time.

Highly recommend A Thousand Blows.

The full ALIEN franchise is now available.
ROBOT DREAMS
This is a funny, yet poignant little animated film from Spain.
It’s rich in detail—there is always something going on in the background, so it warrants repeated viewing—and big on heart.
It’ll make you smile, but it’s also bittersweet.

Finally finished The Great last night. Season 1 was great. Season 2 was still strong, but not quite as good. Season 3 was very uneven but still had its moments.
