Theoretically yes, practically speaking, no. In the end insurance won't cover all the losses, and some of what money was paid will go towards rebuilding, since insurance doesn't totally cover that cost either.
No doubt we will still collect books, it is just who we are, but probably won't replace a lot of the previous collection.
I've got a pretty impressive roach collection... Cause ya never know.
Unfortunately 1st albums I was flying blind in the deep rual south. Bought KC & Sunshine band with that's the way uh uh and get down tonite on it (I remember a grey star or simething on the cover). 2nd was kiss Alive which I bought just cause they looked mighty fuckin cool to an 11 yr old. Next three albums were Kiss and never bought another KC & Sunshine band album.
YMMV.
Medals and race numbers when I used to run a lot.

I suppose if i collect, or think about "collecting" anything this would be it. Ms. MT started it, getting a refigerator magnet for where we'd been. Starts upper left ( fuck it I got no idea how to rotate, looks right on my pc. so it flows lower left to upper right. tilt your head. ) starts with one from the honeymoon, and flows nort-east. I guess something like 28 years of trips here - roughly in order on a timeline.

First albums:
For my 14th birthday, my grandparents sent me 3 LPs. "Something New" by The Beatles, "Let It Bleed" by The Rolling Stones and "Welcome To My Nightmare" by Alice Cooper. I listened to them in that order and my life was changed. I have no doubt my grandparents had no idea what they were buying and some store clerk got a kick out of including Alice in the mix. The lavender sleeve for "Let It Bleed" has the words "THIS RECORD SHOULD BE PLAYED LOUD" printed in large, capital letters at the bottom. I took that instruction to heart. But "Welcome To My Nightmare" was the catalyst for so much to follow, dark themes in hard rock that challenge social norms. It wasn't until later that I learned "necrophilia" is the word to describe what's going on in "Cold Ethyl." I still have those LPs along with all the other ones I bought and was gifted throughout the 70s and 80s. I'll occasionally clean one off and queue it up for a retro listening experience, particularly if it's something that I don't have a digital version of.
You still have those albums, GetAmped?
^^^I've got a DiscWasher kit almost exactly like that but the record solution bottle fits inside the big wood sweeper brush.
I have no quiver, but i had the Discwasher kit you described. Probably tossed it a few years ago:(

Guy at work is a vintage tool collector. Every couple weeks at our staff meeting he'll pass around a couple tools and we have to guess what they're for. It's surprisingly difficult. He's retiring at the end of the year and I'll miss his "tool time" segment.
The Pulaski is down stairs by the wood stove to help dry the stain.
I either use my HCSA or lose it so I collect Rayban wayfarers
Guns, a few pool cues, ammo, guns, fishing tackle, ammo, fishing lures, guns.
Arrows, golf balls, grapes, popcorn, coffee beans, doggy poop bags, empty beer cans...
Love dolls. I recently picked up a Heroin Heidi as I've lately had a drug chick fetish.
I collect panties.
My wife wants them back.
A man walks into an axe store and says,
"Hey, how much for that axe with the beautiful custom handle?"
The clerk says, "If hew have to axe, you can't afford it."
