9am wake up, shoot up, take bong hits
9:30 beat off
10am get out of bed, take a shit, use bidet.
10:30 shoot up, dab, beat off
11am -3pm watch days of our lives, etc., beating off every 45 minutes and checking tgr every 3 minutes and dabbing every 60, eat 5 pounds of bon bons
3pm-5pm take nap
5pm-8pm take the boy downtown and beg for change.
8pm call my parole officer
9pm put salve on to recuperate for tomorrow's beating off, go to bed
Wow. this is getting good. Wait what were we talking about?
Some of us old people know things and can make stuff happen immediately. Been laid off three times due to buy outs. Had opportunities to move twice but OH and TX didn't cut it from CO. Third one was a job we moved for, paid off all bills, purgatory in Charlotte and ended up being laid off and moving back to CO before our own deadline of 3 years.
Opportunities may not look like the old style types these days. Determine what you need to live, keep an open mind, and let it come to you.
Oh totally. And I love thread drifts.

then there is the matter of calling an employment situation a "hostage situation." yuck yuck!! like i said, such a tragedy.
sorry, skidog! it obviously was a semi-throwaway comment that had nothing to do with you. who knew the tgr's asshole justice warriors would be so triggered?
i haven't had the pleasure of being banned....
so you have a handle on the PTSD now?
DBdude, I am not the first to say it and won't be the last, but you seem to have some anger issues.
it's somebody I have a relationship with and trust
i'm doing some interesting work in an area I am weak in and want to get better
that said I may not get any money. I am starting a new contract that is work from home at a decent rate - we'll see what happens in the next two months
Agreed. Most of our software developers and other tech staff are in the 40s-50s age group. They have experience, talent, maturity, and were willing to take a bit less money in exchange for not having to work massive hours. We've also had good luck with a few new grads - no experience but talented, hungry and willing to learn. They are moving up fast and relatively inexpensive (for now). Good mix...
Spook makes it about himself. No surprise. Every time.
so profound
did you learn that in the wintersteiger manual?
seasonal beer has a manual?
No. Spook started it trying to be clever. Look at his m.o:
He gets kicked off the golf course. Not his fault
He falls on his snowboard. REI’s fault.
He falls off the lift. Old mans fault
Gets hit on the slope. Other guys fault.
And on and on.
So he comes into a thread about people losing there jobs, when he’s never had a job, and he turns it into mein kampf.
I give him credit. He’s good at it. Fishing for empathy he’s a real pro.
haha, poor bitter, racist 4matic. not even close to reality. fishing for empathy for myself is the last thing i am concerned with. your rigid brain can't distinguish basic motivations so you fill in the blanks with your comfort judgment that confirm your selective memory and general ignorance about what you're talking about, even in the face of demonstrably, completely contradictory reality.
keep swinging. the only thing i give you credit for is being consistent.
Hmmm, OK, I’m not going to argue about it. But the whole idea in working for a startup is to work like a dog long hours for no or little pay in exchange for a piece of the pie that can possibly pay off later. If they are not willing to give you a piece now, don’t expect them to be more generous later.
I guess if you are learning, and aquiring a skill, that’s something though. Better than doing nothing at all.
Sorry to hear. Had to deal with that last year due to an idiot upstairs in the org. Got a different job in the same org and maxed out my performance rating while he's now about to be laid off.
Let me know if you need any mock interview practice or anything.
Thanks man will do.
I'm trying to possibly get with the company we split from as I built all their backend azure infrastructure. Turn key employee and they had nothing to do with my being laid off. Can't hurt to try.
