Nice! Where were ya approx? South shore? North shore?
Boston Harbor!
Nice! That’s great I don’t need to drive far. Gonna get the yak up here for nighttime fishing. Shoot me a text if you’re around the city foshing I’ll meet up.
Will do!
One day does not make a pattern but stripers were hard to come by off Montauk point yesterday. Blues on the other hand were plentiful.

Supposedly, the week prior was gangbusters.
Tomorrow looks to be a bust weather-wise. Here’s hoping for Sunday.

Great pics below!
New boater here and good new fishing gear is not in the budget this summer. If anyone has any older striper/tuna rods/reels they aren't using and are looking to sell for not too much please PM! Located North shore of MA.
been reading up on conditions, whats the word folks? be out in about 2.5 weeks, looking to stock the fly box before heading out, i know its a ways out but any suggestions on patters? Will most likely stop at bears den fly shop after we land in BOS on the 21st.
No idea on patterns but the fishing has been real good around the cape. Bears Den on the way or Eastman’s in Falmouth when you’re here.
Got into a few 30+# this morning, one hooked directly in the last inch of the tail. Took a while to get her in against a 3knot current.
thanks! I'll hit you up after the fiance heads back to UT. Dropping her at Logan july 25, then on cape until the 30, Dad's gotta work a few days so I'll be much more free for fishing.
Yes dude! One of these falls I will come back and want to try to hit a slam on the fly rod in a day, Albie, striper, blues.

I waste so much time and gas chasing Albies this time of year
fuck, I miss the salt
Not many stripers in the block island sound area. But the blackfish have been biting. Last Thursday near Watch Hill Light…

^Nice!! Caught sunrise this morning over Beavertail and the Mount Hope Bridge that had that orange color. Some big blues around this year. Sorry for shitty pics taken through a stained waterproof case.

^^ what the fuck. That thing is thiccc. Keep all hands and feet inside the vehicle
That’s a nice sized blue. Did you keep it? Even if we immediately bleed them, I still can’t get into eating it. Great sport, but I’d rather throw them back.
Same. Maybe a pate but that’s a lot of work for stuff I don’t even like.
Good tuna or shark bait though!
Thanks guys. I was casting into a mixed feed hoping for Albies but it turned out to be a small school of chub mackerel on bait being chased by some dinosaur bluefish and that one hit my epoxy jig. I released it. I really like smoked bluefish but I’ve never tried preparing it myself.
Blues? Great music. Bad eating. Might as well eat a falsie.
I’ve had it bled prepped and cooked proper. Blue still sucks.
But bluefish and false Albie are great fun on the reel
Striper is delicious. Tastier than a stripper. Good flakey white meat. It’s just hard to get a slot when the slot is so small.
Nice size. You in RI??
Yup just got back. Didn’t see as much life as a few days ago but there are still fish around. Seemed like most people were blackfishing Attachment 475112
Fished within a stones throw of Watch Hill Light again today. Tons of other boats in the area doing the same. Limited out around 1230. Except for a little lull around slack tide between 11-1130, lots of action but quite a few shorts.
Sunrise over Montauk

My take

It was a really nice morning on the water, saw so many migrating birds. This is my second time trying for tog. The big ones must fight like beasts.
Did you see any Albies? They were around the Narragansett/Pt Judith area just a few days ago but I didn’t see any yesterday.
No albies last week and none today. Quite a few slot fish, many shorts and a couple over the slot. Different venue this week and not quite New England…

Lots of big fish for the past month+. Really hard to land a slot fish nowadays.
Damn 41 lbs is a solid striper. Fuck yeah dude! I miss living on Nantucket a lot this time of year.
Nice spanky!
Those are sure to be some very special memories

Solid fish! May sucked, first half (new moon) of June sucked. But it’s picked up on cape/MA last 2 weeks
Thanks guys. That second fish was only 35 lbs but put up a much greater fight than the 40 lb’er.
Great catches Spanky. I had to travel to Maine to find some decent fishing from shore this spring. I did awful around Boston.

From a friend in ptown.
No not that kind of friend. He’s East End family guy.
Pretty healthy “slot” fish
