The Players a few weeks ago was pretty fun to watch with a great finish. With the way Scottie is striking the ball and now putting it wouldn’t matter if any of those LIV guys were in the field.

Looks like the better half and I are heading over on Wednesday. Hope the weather holds up.
Couple we are going with had extras. Not sure if they were from the draw or not.
My buddy and I have a long running joke where we congratulate each other every year when we get the email from the Masters saying, “unfortunately you did not win any badges in this year’s drawing, we look forward to telling you the same next year.”
Pretty stoked to head over tomorrow morning.
80° with clouds could be a perfect day to walk around and take in the beauty, eat some egg salad sandwiches and not have to look at a damned phone for a large block of time.
I thought the azaleas peaked here in town last week but it seems they’ve all gone into hyper-bloom along with every other tree and bush with a pink, purple or white flower - have to believe Augusta is looking the same. Funny how they nail that timing every year.
i was watching the coverage today and it seems like the masters is now the dysfunctional family reunion where the two sides who kinda might still like each other have to come together after a long time apart. also brooksie is still a fucking weirdo and i hope patrick reed shoots an opening round 112. and goddamn i want rory to get this monkey off his back. also really fkn jealous, bmills. one of these days....
Totally agree. Saw the Champions Dinner pic and was like, oh yeah, Patrick Reed is still alive, how weird.
Also, Phil and Bubba look haggard. Guess when you don’t see some guys after a while cause they play on a made up tour you don’t see how they rapidly age.
DJ was next to Freddie in the pic and some others were mixed around so I have to assume during this special dinner tensions are eased. Brooks is still a tool no matter how good he is.
Pulling for Rory to get the jacket too.
They are falling today. What good fun.

akshay bhatia. don't be shocked.
Had an absolutely lovely day there yesterday. 80 degrees with big puffy clouds and a breeze. Watched some of the Par 3, camped out at 16 bleachers and watched JT, Max Homa and a bunch of others play around with how dangerous not being on 15 green can be, then go stick it close on 16 and skip a few on the pond to the crowd's delight.
Enjoyed several beers and sandwiches at Amen Corner and just walking around taking in the beauty. The Course is beyond immaculate of course, but I felt like the Azaleas are blooming bigger up on the hill in Atlanta.
I'll post some pics once the photo uploader is working.
No phones on the course during the actual tourney but I assume it was ok yesterday?
Cam Smith wearing a LIV Golf shirt is some solid trolling.
It took a moment to get used to, but once you realize how many times you go to reach into your pocket for your phone during a conversation or when looking at something, it instantly reminds you to be present. I loved it.
That said, it was unnerving as hell realizing we missed a bunch of texts from our babysitter once we got our phones back (Gen Z doesn't leave voicemail, which you can check using any one of the courtesy phones around the course), but thankfully all was well.
Watching the guys on the practice range you didn't notice too much LIV/PGATour tension. Some of the usual cliques but nothing unusual appearing.
Dechambeau had the round of his life yesterday but history tells us that it isn't sustainable. I'd really like to see Rory make a big move today and get closer to checking the career slam off his list.
Speith woke up today to finish his 1st round and chose the truck-slammer going 6-6-7-7 to finish. Ufda.
^thinking the same thing. Do you even want to be leading day 1? Such a whacky thought. Play your ass off, in the lead, and then say, f-me!...this is most likely not sustainable!
Just another reason why the LIV product isn't appealing to me. There's a world of difference between playing a 72 hole tournament and a 54 hole tournament.
Was watching the round 1 replay last night and I don't think I've ever seen Tiger leave so many birdie putts short. I know beyond the pin is jail at Augusta, but there were some headscratchers out there for him.
Same. They all need to get their shit together and figure it out. When you see what a crap product the Saudi soccer league is I'm not confident that taking the same approach with the golf product is going to be successful or good for any viewer - sometimes just throwing money at a problem doesn't fix it (sometimes). And yeah, the few times I've seen LIV on TV it was like a gotdamned NASCAR race up there on the screen with all that garbage.
Back to the Masters, Max Homa is having himself a real good day out there. When he and JT came through 16 the other day he was the only one to get it close in that group by skipping the ball across the water which they say is good luck for the week (probably)
LIV needs to just swallow their pride and admit their format sucks. They have the big names - run it like a normal tournament without shotgun starts and I might actually watch. You can still keep some kind of team aspect I suppose but the truth is no one gives a shit.
Also while the big purses are great for the players, unless I get a cut I couldn’t care less. Huge miscalculation on their part. The only time I care about how much the winner gets in a golf tournament is when some longtime journeyman player breaks through and it changes his life.
While I agree, the only time I care when a tournament ups their purses or becomes a Designated Event is when it helps keep a tournament that I like going to around and ensures it brings in bigger names/players I like - The Heritage for example.
I'm not sure I'd go to a LIV event because as you accurately state, the format blows.
It looks brutal out there today. Don’t know how people are scoring at all
Should be interesting to see the setup tomorrow. Seems the sub air system paired with the high winds have left the greens crustier than normal. Morikawa said he’s never seen greens this hard and dry. I would think they will put a bunch of pins in easier spots to create some fireworks, but will it work if guys can’t get it close?
Augusta certainly had its teeth out on Saturday. Reports are they are going to water early this morning to soften things up. Stacked leaderboard full of great names and a course you can maybe score on has the potential for an awesome Sunday.

The last six holes by BD were what golf is all about. Couple three putts, chunk it in the water, hole out from a hundred yards on 18. That’s the kind of golf we can all relate to.

Bryson has a little of that dumb Mickelson hero shot complex in him. It was so obvious he should have layed up on 15 with those trees blocking the green.
Props to Max Homa who keeps hitting good putts that won’t drop. No birdies in 31 holes and yet he’s just hanging in there making pars.

Man, what a day Scotty had yesterday! Thought for sure he had run off the rails like Bryson, but he gutted it out, and suddenly bam! he’s back on top with an eagle and birdie!
Bryson, on the other hand…. well, that birdie at the end was a good sign, but I think the damage has been done, especially with Scotty back on track.
Today should be fun to watch!
Water and no wind with 82° and sunny is gonna make for some fun golf!
Schauffele was rock solid yesterday. It'll be interesting if he can make a run up the leaderboard today.
Scottie is just so dialed I'm not sure anyone can beat him. His 2nd into 18 for the finish was so good.
Thinking Morikawa is going to be one to watch today.
He is the only one to improve his score day to day over the first 3 rounds.
Scotty, while improving by one shot in round 3 vs round 2, is still feeding off his opening round of 66.
Bryson has been tanking round to round, although that miracle shot on 18 could propel him.
Likewise, Homa, while steady, has been slowly sliding switch.
Aberg's been up and down steady.
Schauffele's the only other one on the board that has not had a down round yet.
Which one of these guys is going to catch a little spark today and go for the win ?
Even if they water the shit out of those greens, by the time the leaders get to them they'll have been baking under that hot
Georgia sun all day. Softer early greens could allow someone from down the field to make an aggressive run up the board.
Should be an interesting ending down the stretch.
Here's hoping for some playoff holes !
now that its coming down to it i really don't want a liv guy to win. homa would be exciting but the scheff is cooking.
Do they pipe in the car alarms like they do with the bird songs?
