I just pulled the trigger on a bedinabox.com memory foam mattress. It cost me double what I have ever paid in the past, hopefully it'll be worth it. Highest rated brand on sleeplikethedead.com and overwhelmingly positive reviews everywhere else I checked are what sold me.
We have two and they're awesome. My only worry is longevity but one is close to two years old and still feels new.Quote:

So anyone that is on a Casper for longer than 10 months? I am wondering how they hold up long term. That is one of the complaints with all-foam constructed mattresses.

Not sure if this link will work. Bought the queen mattress a few years ago and it's great. Came in a normal large square box all shrink wrapped. Don't use it anymore since I got my king size last year but it's our guest bed mattress now and people love it. For $359 memory foam mattresses can't beat it
Finally bought a Casper. I've been really happy with it for the three nights we've slept on it.
Mrs. Kevo thinks it is too stiff. We'll see if she comes around in the next 97 days before the trial period ends. If not, we may end up with a sleep number.
I'm about to order a Casper mattress. Anyone have a referral code?
Just found out that there's a Simmons outlet near us so we went and got a Cal King sized Heavenly Bed (like you find in Westins etc for $2000 or on Gilt.com for $1500) for the outrageous price of $300! Ha! Box spring thrown in for free.
I've never had a bad nights sleep on these things and I am so happy to be rid of that spine crushing SelectComfort.
So damn happy.

Costco memory foam. $800 for a king, just as comfy as Tempurpedic.

Still a big Casper fan. Slept on one last night. In the process of changing out all of our beds to Casper so that I can sleep on the same mattress everywhere I go in my jetset lifestyle.
Non-toxic latex mattress. Read up on what all of the regulated fire-retardant chemicals demanded by bought regulations actually do to the human body.
For those of you who bought Casper's earlier in this thread, how are they holding up?

As an abridged version, the chemical industry lobbied to require flame retardants in all mattresses, which they now are even though the practice has little evidence that it does much in preventing fire related deaths. But, the chemicals are highly toxic and probably a piece of the complex puzzle of increasing cancer and other disease rates. Just picked up a Sealy Caversham cal king for 1200 with everything. I'd have gone Memory foam but orthodontics for twins hurts the wallet. I also decided to avoid big box stores and patronize a mom and pop store to protect humanity.
Best sleep I ever had was a 500 dollar extra firm queen in the floor. Worst sleep I've had is the bullshit stearns and foster with a pillow top my ex made me drop 4 k on.
I'm hoping simple and firm does the trick again.

Haven't read through the entire thread but there is no need to spend a ridiculous amount of money on a new mattress. By far the best mattress I have ever used is a Signature Sleep memory foam. Amazon sells them cheap - an 8" queen for under $200. There are different thicknesses available, but I've found even the 6" on the floor to be plenty of cushion. Seriously, better than a few Tempurpedics that I have tried. Wont ever sleep on metal springs again.
What ghettostyle states definitely has a lot of truth to it, and could be its own thread. So I'd unpackage the mattress and let it offgas for a day or two before use. You probably have a lot of other things in your house offgassing volatile compounds that will kill you before that thing your spending 1/3 of your life stuck to, but your back will feel wonderful!
I bought one of these when I was visiting my parents and hated the (pretty new and not super cheap) spring mattress they had in my room. I think I bought the 8 inch, but don't remember. It was nice. Certainly much better than the mattress that it replaced. I don't know how it would hold up to everyday use, but I was pleased with it. It was a bit too soft for my wife's preference though.Quote:

Except that instead of the memory foam side, we have it flipped around and are sleeping on the denser foam base side. It's one of the few mattresses we've found that fits our firmness preferences (hers are stronger than mine, though my preference is for firm as well). We haven't had it that long though, so we'll see how it holds up.
I've had my Casper almost a year and haven't noticed any deterioration or change in firmness. Very happy with it. Another reason I bought it is the hallway/staircase in my place is pretty tight and I didn't want to deal with trying to get a traditional mattress in and out.Quote:

We'd been sleeping on Keetsa mattresses for several years and thought they were great... but we stumbled upon a deal on a Serta memory foam mattress that a friend was getting rid of, and I've never had such a respite from back pain as I've had sleeping on this bed. I never would have purchased a mattress as soft as this one, but it's been incredible.
Just purchased a Novaform Serafina Pearl from Costco, after a lot of research on memory foam mattresses. Apparently Consumer Reports named it their top overall pick a year or two ago. Reviews said it was on the firm side, which is true and is great with me, and it's got the gel thing so that it's supposed to sleep cooler than standard memory foam. After two weeks on it, I'm sold - feels a lot like the $4000 Tempurpedic that I checked out at a couple of stores, and we paid a grand total of $682 delivered, including tax. Costco's return-it-anytime policy is also a big plus. Overall I'm pretty stoked on it.

Update: 4 years in and I still love my Beautyrest Black. Sigh... soooooooooo comfy and wonderful. It was all I could do to get out of bed this morning. Didn't want to leave its soft embrace.
Caspers are comfortable and have just the right amount of resiliency for um activities. I dig them still. My Tempurpedic at home is still the most comfortable bed ever but the Caspers are close. Tempurpedics are too soft for anything but sleeping though. There's no actual "bottom", you just keep sinking in. which can be disadvantageous.
^^ It definitely takes some time to learn how to do other activities on a Tempurpedic. The lack of rebound and what have you.
We bought some Tuft & Needle mattresses for our second home and so far we've been happy with them. Not as soft but pretty comfortable overall, and a hell of a lot cheaper.
Still happy with our T & N after a couple years. Compares well to our McCroskey.
I rented a vacation place last weekend that had a Flobed mattress. That will be my next mattress. Holy shit is was heavenly.
