Probably one of the worst ive ever seen. He fell a long way off that second cliff.
is this feed going to be available for viewing later or is it just live and then gone? stupid firewalls here at work made it a no go for me, something about alcohol/tobacco content. Stupid partying skiers smoking cigarettes
Hope Nicoletta will be ok. Great skiing from Utah boys, Wintzer and Tabke!
anyone talk to anyone there? How far behind live are we?
+++++++John+++++++
I belive they won't show live action untill they deal with John.
Allthou I with they would just show us. Already saw the worst of it
It's live right now, but there's supposed to be a rebroadcast of the whole thing this evening. Not sure what time
Hope Nicoletta's OK...
Count your self lucky if you did not see that fall. It will be with me for a long time... Much worse than anything I have ever seen. I have started praying.
Can't be tottally live feed anymore... All the pauses in the feed have never actually skipped over any of the broadcast... They might be making some of it up in the breaks but cant have made up all of it...
Wish I hadnt seen that, the hit he took to his side on the top of the second set of rocks....
Very frightening. I was worried I might see something like that.
I hope he's ok.
I was just getting out of a meeting and checked in to see if it was still broadcasting only to see the intro for Nicoletta. Watched him drop in off the first hit and then…
I hope he is alright.
nobody wants to see a wreck like that:eek:, I wish I hadn't. Hopefully he's OK.
Anyone know the current standings?
comp suspended till saturday. nicoleta life flighted to anchorage.:(
live feed just came back on briefly:
they just briefly mentioned that Nicoletta is in the best of care right now and their thoughts and prayers go out to him. And due to patrol resources being spread too thin at the moment, they are postponing the remainder of the field until tomorrow.
Paraphrased the update as the audio was sketchy...but that's the gist of it.
Boy Craig Medred is gonna be all over this :(
For the backpacks, we had to climb mt everest and most of us had skis on our backs, because calling the bootpack steep is the biggest understatement ever.
Vibes to John... no idea on his status, I've heard rumors of both good and bad news. That's why they're rumors, will let you know after athletes meeting if we hear anything.
To everyone else, seriously shut the hell up. Everyone out here is pushing their limits, and trying to pick lines they think will score well. For the guy that hiked out, he's still alive and breathing. That entire section is a giant rock garden.
All we got was a visual inspection from the bottom, you have no idea what your take offs and landings are like. Some will send it, some want to cruise in a little slower to check for sharks etc.. can you blame them?
The snow is super sketchy, punchy and crust on top of pow on the west facing aspects. Everyone here skiing the tour is more than competent, and as for "pussing out", now you know why, the consequences can mean life or death. I don't want to hear anymore judgement calls about the snow, competitors etc unless you're out here.
I was on a ridge up close and right across from the venue with a bunch of photogs. John's fall was every bit as bad as everyone says. But it was the sound of him hitting that is stuck with me. I immediately started screaming at patrol to get to him as loud as I could and waving my hands for them to go to him. This accident has certainly cast a pall over the event. I hope karma's info is correct...
FUCK! I don't know what to say.

Very very sad. So sorry to hear about another tragedy.
My deepest condolences go out to his friends and family. :(
This is horrible news
I bet this IFSA will have to take a good look at these comps and whether or not to continue. Thoughts and prayers are with the John's family.
RIP John, we will miss your smile, talents and all around good vibes
Adam and Jane
I'll miss you Johnny. You were one of the first people I met when I moved to town. You tore it up on the mountain and were always one of the most upbeat, friendly, and positive skiers out there. You WILL be missed by everyone in town and beyond. Thoughts are with your family and your many friends. Tomorrow will be for you!
god bless-this is truly tragic...
Just got the news, this is unreal. This is just too much, such a horrible event.
