looks like the southern mtns might be in line for some good snow Thurs- Fri. Lighter accumulations up north on Friday, but should see some snow. Next week looks continued unsettled. A good dump would be nice.

Looks like a decent forecast, according to the experts at 9news.com. 10-16" for Vail/BC, 6-12" for Summit County.
Was that forecast through next Tues.?;)
I think we'll be lucky to see 6" in Breck by Saturday. The SW flow isn't great for SuCo. However, the flow changes to more W/NW on Sunday and that should be better for us. Hopefully, Ullr proves me wrong regarding the first round of snow.
I want to take off on Monday.
Somebody make it happen.
I absolutely guarantee I could make it so you would not be expected in your chair on Monday, no doubt in my mind.
Can I try, huh, can I?
If it involves the unnatural destruction of knee caps, you can try something else.
just tell em it is time for your annual HIV test, due to you being a man whore at night.
Event starting today set to favor the southern mountains, flow veers a tad more westerly tonight providing better snow for the western CO mtns. still not great for SuCo as it is more S of West than N of West. Regardless, some accumulation will be likely. Appears a stronger ridge builds in through the weekend before the next storm take shape during the Sunday - Tuesday timeframe, which if the models hold together would provide a heavy snow event for the NoCo mountains. Continued unsettled pattern Wed.-Thurs before high pressure tries to build back in over the west coast (though at this time, it does not appear persistent as the flow remains progressive)
Rontele et. al - how does sat and sun look for steamboat? Last weekend/early this week the forecast was for flurries and they got 3 feet.
Is the general consensus that Monday will be better than today?
edit, seems like a dumb question looking at that map, but you know, whole bird in the hand thing.
I can easily take either today or Monday off, but not both.
ps, Rontele, your voice mail did not work for me when I called 10 minutes ago. Rang a few times and went to extended silence.
Anyone for Dawn Patrol on Monday?
Thanks bro. I guess I will trudge into work today. Kinda hung over anyway.
EDIT: removed thread content to prevent any jinx'ing of snowfall amounts.
it's snowing......shhhhh...
My dad is in town starting tomorrow and I am off Sat, Sun, Mon, Tues, and Wed....
While he and his wife are EPIC GAPERS, at least I will be skiing at least 3 outta the next 5.
had to learn from someone I suppose:fmicon:
Breck is reporting 4" as of 1pm.;)
Hopefully, the next system coming Sunday night--> Monday pans out.
A-Basin reported 2" this morning, but thanks to the wind it was more like 6" on most of the front side. Nice and creamy, one of the best 2" days I've had in a long time. (enter joke here)
The 4" on Ajax skied like 8-10".:D
The morning update looks like it is going to be a GOOD week.
Looks like Wolf Creek should be off the hook on Tuesday.... up to 4 feet expected.
Montanaskier- I'll be up later this week to ski BC and maybe Vail too. If you're around, we should meet up.
The talk was that Monday was going to be good at Vail, as of 7:30 no snow yet. Looks like it is dumping in Aspen so that might be the place to be tomorrow. Come on wind, switch to the NW please....
3" in 4 hours at the Snotel on Indy Pass.
storm door is open.
should be a pretty active week/weekend into next week.
What's going on in Eagle? Doesn't look promising at all.
I guess Summit's getting some but not enough to take off.
Aspen Highlands reported 20 inches last night. Silverton reported 36. Hopefully Eagle/Summit gets the tail end of this. It's snowing outside in Leadville again.
skied Vail today with my Dad....wow were those groomers soft:rolleyes:
Snowed about an inch over night, when we got to the top of the gondi around 9:30 it was NUKING and the wind was about 60mh. I got super stoked, then it cleared and was pretty much bluebird the rest of the day and the temp at the summit was a toasty 34 degrees.
Did snow like crazy like HomerJay said for about 30 min, now it does appear to be clearing and not snowing at all. Glad A$pen and the San Juans got this one, it definately did not hit Vail. Holding out hope for Wednesday.
