If I recall correctly, last year they opened for the weekend then closed for a few days midweek before opening again the following weekend, with daily operation thereafter.
No announcements yet but given forecast temps this weekend, I could definitely see a repeat.
At present on the Rose website they are selling advance tickets for every day of the week through November 30th…
Is that the inscrutable one from earlier? [emoji12]

I'm holding out hope for OS predictions for next week. Bring it, I'm ready!!
Contemplating Mammoth this weekend, but not sure it's worth the drive.
In other news: PT is starting ski teams the second week of Dec this year with on-snow training for coaches two weeks before. Could make for a few spicy days if it doesn't snow much before them. :rolleyes2
I’ll probably be in Tahoe City Nov 17-8
hopefully enough next week to take the girl meadow skipping
snow was very nice today. got a decent freeze making a little base layer with some graupel on top

Just got back from the double feature and it was a treat. I have to say 'Here, Hold My Kid' was the winner but it's probably just because Elyse is so much better at not competing.
right on

Went up to Rose in the afternoon. Skiing was what I expected. One run with firm man made and bumps. It felt crowded at times, but emptied out late in the day. The pic makes it look better than it actually was. Good for 10 runs.
^^ Us too. The lift line in the am looked real bad on cam.
We dug out our old BRO's for rock skis.

i was up at Rose yesterday AM and it was fun to get on skis again but super congested.
Today on the other hand, we went up to Downieville this morning and Big Boulder-->3rd Divide was about as good as I've ever hit it.
Wow! That was fun!!!
Go tomorrow! You won't be disappointed!
hey ski team! a personal ad for the new season:
i've got a kirkwood ski lease with two spots to fill - it's a house in the valley, walking distance to the lift, 4br/3ba (& garage!!!) with 8 quality current members. We're looking for a couple or family or few friends. The current house crew is in the 30-40 age range, cool, respectful and pretty decent skiers.
Lease runs from Dec - April. If you or someone you know is looking for a ski house like this, drop me a pm!
EDIT! Typo'd the lease dates, it's 5 months from December 1 to April 30
On the cinematic tip, Full Circle, the documentary about Barry Corbet (“Corbet’s Couloir”) and Trevor Kennison is currently screening at the Galaxy Victorian in Sparks…

Sinecure and I made 15 laps at Rose today for 15k vertical feet and 15 miles on skis. I made approximately 750 turns. Sinecure made about 50. Skiing is fun. The season is off to a start, a slow start, but it is something.
^wait, you made more turns than Sinecure?!?!?!
I am finding that moderately hard to believe…
Rax?
Aye yo!
Go see FULL CIRCLE if you can.
It’s at the Galaxy Victorian in Sparks through Thursday.
Also coming to the Galaxy Fandango in Carson City on 12/1/23.
Just PM'd you, on behalf of ShadeGardener.

Boreal is opening this Friday, 11/17.
And get this: $25 lift tix.
Now that’s how you do an opening day when you only have limited terrain WROD action in effect…
That said, their tix go up to $84 on Saturday…
that’ll be super fun in the rain
From what I have seen from the freeway, Boreal has some base down only on the west side of the Castle Peak Chair, which will likely have a half dozen features with just as many people walking uphill as skiing downhill. For most of us, Rose or Mammoth offers something better...plus Rose might be above the rain line.
