Ha, yeah. I can identify. Maisie is out for the season however. I sit here waiting for the call from the vet surgeon in Calgary as to when she goes under the knife for an ACL repair. Maisie and I will be fondly following this thread and living vicariously through you folks and all your dogs. Go get some for Maisie and I please.Quote:

Tough conditions for a dog today. Almost 30" over the last couple days with a punchy layer half way down. Less dog smiles than is usual.

So what is the prognosis Gary? Will she make a recovery back to full-on dog mode or does that remain to be seen.
Pretty good prognosis given her age, her shape going into surgery and the fact that I'm going at her physio like it's my full time job. Doc says she should make a full recovery. She was also weight bearing the day after surgery, so that's good. Scary thought is that there's a 50% chance she blows her right rear stifle now...Quote:

skifishbum... Your dog doesn't make a fuss about the booties? What led you to go the boot route, ice balls?
I spent 2 winters in my 20's training and racing sled dogs sprint teams. We'd put booties on certain dogs, often those with little cuts or hot spots. Some dogs would take them and others not so much. Not only would they manage to rip them off while running, a couple hours they would sh*t them out. So while running and pulling like crazy, they would manage to pull their booties off and eat them... all while pulling.
My dog Spider was pretty happy we bailed on our ridge walk / traverse and retreated to the trees for some deep goods.
