Okay. I can't take it any longer. If it's snowing for this weekend, I'm going. Injuries be damned-ed.

Boutros boutros gully! Cool.
shitty driving getting to the valley
$$$$$$$$$$
Cough cough, I think I am coming down with something.
Seems like a good weekend to visit friends in the high valley. Starting Friday. Maybe see what the Douglas Powderbirds are up to... :D
:ski:
Heading out to Whitetail tonight for some cheap skiing. I'll be in my bright blue Oakley coat and bright red Line skis.
And according to Accuweather, DC/Baltimore are at 300% of their average snowfall for this time of the season with another 6-12 inches expected this weekend, AND another storm on the models for next tuesday. I expect to see some footage from Virginia in the next Meatheads film!
Accuweather is wrong.
DC is 200% over Oct-Jan. average by my math...but that's cool.
I'm doing a really long write up on FIS for you all about this epic year.
Short story for now is that No. VA, MD, WVA - the area from cumberland gap to frederick MD and south to say...Shenandoah/Manassas is the honey pot right for the weekend.
VERY WET system. Cold air should remain in place thu the full atmosphere for this area. 1-2 feet NOT out of the question....
I'd go like this
best chance: 8-14
With higher amounts likely in an impossible to predict target somwhere in that zone and overall higher amts possible depending on storm speed
That should be good news since I'm in the honey pot, and have finally (semi) removed myself from my snob-induce ski funk. But, reading that bums me the fuck out since I'll be shuttling to/from the hospital all weekend.
Maybe I can swing a Wintergreen trip on Sunday. Anybody gonna be around?
Did a write up for you kids over at FIS
(yea I know about linking ...blah blah blah)
It's way to long to post here.

Could be, depending on the dump depth and expected conditions, which includes how many people can get to the hill.
LionelHutz,
Thanks for the very informative weather post. Did I miss it in the report or are you saying the major snow line will be above the Richmond, VA. area ? I saw a couple references to the NOVA area and snow, but not a definitive prediction of where that line is predicted to fall.
Also seems like this will be a heavy wet snow unlike the last 2 storms.
I think for this system the snow line will be a little blurred. You'll see mixing prob. all the way up tp DC. However west- in the hills you'll prob. remain all snow. Just really a matter of the track of the surface low. I think at this time definative predictions w/r/t rain/snow lines beyond that is foolish. My "honeypot" zone is best I can do.

damn, nice work on the forecast. That polar globe perspective is a sweet graphic. Looks like the earlier the better for getting on the road Friday... :yourock:
