What the fuck is up with the assault of the kid at Tyrol Basin by the owner? Yeah, not paying for a lift pass is kind of a dick move by the kid, but having the owner assault the kid is another.

^^^ Damn, what the hell? This happened yesterday? I was there for a couple of hours and did not witness any commotion. Yesterday was sunny and warm, absolutely beautiful
It was Monday night.
We were at Tyrol for the ski races this weekend and Nathan was surprisingly cordial. $3 Bush light tallboys and a great place to race and watch racing. What isn't to like about this venue?
Seriously, if the accusations are true, I hope Nathan gets into therapy and figures things out before he cooks his own goose (if he hasn't already). I'm excellent at following rules or at least staying under radar when I don't, but the ugly Nathan stories I have heard from people who cross the sometimes very arbitrary lines he enforces are numerous...it sounds like kid was guilty of theft of services, but still, constraint is required.
My girl broke her first gate in competition in the 2nd Slalom race, trying to keep up with the U20's, earning a well deserved DNF and so by tradition, we got to take it home. Pic is with Chestnut head coach. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...e5d1f8896e.jpg

What a day!
I got to Trollhaugen about 20 minutes after opening and quickly linked up with GSinister and ima gaper. GSinister had a non-mag posse we dubbed The Grumpy Old Men, these dudes ripped and were a lot of fun. Slushy corduroy. Fun shit. Hung out on their sunny deck working on my farmers tan.
ima gaper wanted to see my island, so off we went. It’s a little over an hour from Troll. Left his vehicle on shore, and I think I might have freaked him out a bit with driving across the ice. The logging crew had already gone home for the day but their equipment was still out there. Holy shit did they cut a lot down. Had a gigantic bonfire going that will burn for days. It’s going to be a great spot for a cabin.
Finished up with burgers at a lakeside tavern.
attaboy! Harry !
Yes - sounds like a Good day !
' hope -gapper has decent conditions tomorrow...
Harry's island. FknA ! !!

Fkna is right!
Great day skiing with Harry gsinister and the grumpy old men! Started out soft and a little slushy turned to mashed potatoes by mid day. But days like this is what Midwest skiing is all about. It’s not about perfect conditions or chasing powder days. Most of my Midwest days it either too warm or too cold almost always too windy. The snow is either hard packed ice, or sticky slush. And yet I’ve never had a bad day. It’s about sliding on snow with other people who love to ski! It’s about being able to pass that love on to my kids.
Glad I made the drive. Looking forward to tomorrow, hoping to hook up with Skuff at cascade.
Harry- you’re not wrong about me being a little freaked out driving on the ice. I’m from too far south for this to be normal. Also it was a 50+ degree day and there was 2 inches of water puddled on top of the ice. Made me nervous on the drive out to the island. I was fine by the time we made the return trip to shore.
Thanks again for the tour!

I’ll make sure to take that selfie. I’ll post it here as soon as the photo sharing function gets fixed.Quote:

Paging nedwards81, our homeboy ima gaper lost one of his sweet Cloudveil leather gloves yesterday. Sent you a text with a photo of the glove in question. Can you check Troll’s Lost & Found for him ?
Remember boys and girls, combining Wisconsin malted beverages with Illinois gummies may lead to glove loss on a nice sunny ski area patio….
Yes, you truly are the linchpin of the whole organization.
I think Jag2 is a TGR oldtimer and one of the Tyrol usual suspects
Skied at Cascade with Ima gapper this afternoon, sun came out and the snow was soft slush. Some mellow turns and a beer to close the day... perfect
Thanks, Ima
edit: oh yeah, Ima shared some venison sausage and dog walkers. cheers, brother!
-gapper, and Harry, and Skuff-
Thank you for this adventure and your accounts of this adventure!
Thank you!

Thanks Skuff. I had a great time skiing with you yesterday. Hope to ski with again someday!

I want to commend ima gaper for stepping out of his comfort zone and traveling around to ski and make new friends.
He single handedly blew up the Midwest Stoke thread for an entire week.
Total dirtbag trip, sleeping in his car, eating jerky sticks. Deiter would approve.
Jerky sticks?!? That ain't 'dirtbag' - 2 packages of Klements Honey Ham meat sticks from Fleet Farm, Diet Coke and sunflower seeds over a 27 hour drive - now THAT is dirt bagging! And Dieter never made it out to Idaho... ;)
Man, I had a blast! It was great to finally meet some of you mags in real life.
I’m already dreaming about going bigger next year. Maybe start at granite, to Marquette, mt Bohemia, big powderhorn, to trollhaugen. Each hill is about a three hour drive from the last. Five solid days at some of the Midwest finest ski hills. Hopefully I can pull it off next winter.

Yep, I also had a great time at the Troll on Wednesday. I love it when the sun is shining and the company is good. Thanks for the venison, Ima gaper. Also, Dave and Mark wanted to make sure that I say thanks to Harry for the Swag!
Spotted this hat in the wild today. Lol.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...9d41798b39.jpg

HAHA, so I go into the men’s room at Trollhaugen and step up to the urinal. Got my hawg out doing my thing and I look at the propaganda posted for my reading pleasure. Trollhaugen has an ad up talking about the upcoming Demo Days. And whose photo do they have starring at my dick? Yup, our very own nedwards eighty one has his photo posted right above the urinal.
I went back out to the bar and informed AxeBiker and his wife. AxeBiker immediately went in there and took a photo. Statement by Mrs Axe, “you guys are such weirdo’s”.

Was he looking down in the picture?

WAAAAYYYYY down... And you should have seen how big his eyes got as well... Friggin meat gazer.

Kids got a snow-day from school, so sounds like I'll be bringing the boys and a friend out to Wild this afternoon. Will be curious to see how heavy it is at the hill - pretty dense here at home, but had drifts knee high all over the place. Who's hitting Troll up this Saturday for demo-days? I'm planning to be there Saturday, looking forward to catching some laps with whoever is coming.
Ima has inspired me to make the [emoji641] hour trek to Troll on Saturday

I will be in the Volkl tent turning screws and sending skis out. Then probably selling skis out of the back of my truck....
Wish I could be there, bummed I cannot make either the Troll for demo day or Lutsen for the gathering
This weekend forecast looks like spring like weather in northern WI, have fun all
We'll be in LaCrosse this weekend for the annual open ski race. Between races, the parents will be doing leg workouts on Damnation, pocket beers once our official race duties are complete.
Have fun all.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...f782af701d.jpg

Had to break out my most inappropriate skis for the conditions at Switz tonight
Edit: I forgot pics don’t work. Imagine MFree [emoji637][emoji637][emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]]s with dirt in the background.
I should be at Troll
MAG TAKEOVER @TROLL now expanding to both Saturday and Sunday !
I am getting text messages that some maggots can’t do Saturday, they are planning on Sunday. Other maggots are sticking to Saturday due to kid commitments.
This is like herding cats.
So I am going both days. I plan to grab a table on the patio early, and defend it like a soccer mom, getting horribly sunburned while throwing empty beer cans at the Volkl tent directly below the patio.
I am joking, of course, about throwing empty cans at the Volkl tent. Last year Volkl had some excellent choices for Midwest-inappropriate skis. I remember some (one twenty one) Revolts, some Manta (one oh two) and some (one fifteen) Blaze on the rack. I demo’d all of them, and then bought Kendos from the back of our maggot reps truck in the parking lot afterwards..
The Volkl tent definitely had more maggot-friendly skis than the other tents.
Edited for emoji bombs.

I recall liking the Blaze the most out of the Lineup, but those Revolts were fun for a couple runs on a slushy troll groomer.
