Thanks everyone, I appreciate the advice. I will conduct some experiments and report back. The ski I cut with a hand saw had a metal layer and that was annoying. I have a few more like that and would rather not do it by hand. I will make sure I don't accidentally walk to China or cut my hand off. snoqpass: nice chair and lift!

If it were me, I'd use a chop saw for this project. Klar could borrow one most likely and cut 10-20 skis in 15-30 minutes. Safely. Table saw would be a tricky and dangerous method in my opinion and dremel on a metal ski could take hours and not produce a very straight edge.
I know you make great stuff, but this is something I am very confident about. PM me if you want to fight it out in person.

Last time I chopped some skis I used an angle grinder, it was far from ideal and I don't really recommend it.
Also, snoqpass- did those shells have the holes out did you drill them? I only have seen the 105mm shells and they don't have holes.
Shells are from a recoilless rifle, already perforated, I've seen some with lights in them for handrail posts on a deck

Wow thats a lot of wood.... Do todays skis have that much wood? (depending on model of course)...
I'd guess the majority of skis that the masses buy still do have a wood core.
Just finished my "What to do when it's 90 degrees outside" project. I've always had 2 car garages but one bay has always been dedicated as my shop. I bet this could be installed in a way the door could still operate.

A little outdoor shower pagoda type dealio I built for the in-laws. The floor is mahogany and the rest is cedar. A shower beer is pretty much mandatory when using this thing.
