Hey if anyone in the Southern Maine area is interested there will be a showing of the new Powderwhore movie "choose your own adventure: a ski odyssey".
Where: Rivalries 10 Cotton St Portland Maine
When: Tuesday November 13th @7pm
How much: $10-tickets available at Allspeed Cyclery & Snow and at the door of there's any left.
Why? Because it's a great ski film and it benefits WinterKids - a non profit organization that helps get kids on snow.
Sadly there is little snow in the Hinterlands yet. But you can always go for a bike ride, even if it is a little wintry:

Hmmm, canoe portage or bike trail? Better check the map.

Would have been a long walk or really hard on the skis. That was the snowiest section of trail, most of it was wet, muddy, rocky, totally suited for a fatbike. Kind of a workout for a geezer like me.

PSA: Ski and Ride Card is $26 until Nov. 16 (normally $50).
You get 2 for 1 mid-week tix @ Sugarbush, MRG, Pico, etc.
$10 off Magic weekends! ($25 midweek/powder days) and many others.
^^^Damn, nice deal. Gotta get me one of them!
...good to see the early season stoke...keep it coming!
Damn I might hit the Riv up on Monday.
chilly is right. 30 degrees for my 13 mile commute home from work at 8pm last night. not nearly as cold as the commuting will be in a month or two, but still..........time to grow the beard back!

they don't have singletrack in Quebec?
nice bog, guy. are you harvesting cranberries with that thing?
oh-key-moe., opens tomorrow.
it begins!
22 deg this morning and hard frost/freeze overnight.
The question is will the 2fer get used at Killington tomorrow or should I just hike locally for turns?

I'm glad I swapped the mower deck for the snow plow on the tractor.
Teasing? ON TGR? Oh come on, now. If you try a fatbike you will be hooked. Like fatskis, they open up a whole new world of possibilities and are surprisingly versatile. Conditions were very "early 90s" as we were riding on a XC ski trail that gets little use or maintenance. Full TR is here if anyone is interested: http://forum.nyskiblog.com/TR-A-rema...tp4020983.html
We've had a bit of rain lately. Here in my part of Ontario, our best singletrack is either closed for the season or, for the next two weeks, being patrolled by people with guns. This ride was the best option.
11 degrees right now. Hardest frost of the season. Looking like the snow may be coming. Decent base down now for whatever falls on top. Earned turns should be sweet.
