DidyouseeBenny?
Is Benny skiing Gore today?
Just don't bring up his dad if you do see him.
It is Wed.
Benny abhors skiing midweek at Gore because Gore doesn’t run all of their lifts during the midweek. It’s a simple value equality thing in his mind. They charge the same price mid week as they do weekend and therefore, he feels entitled to the same services for the same prices during the mid week period as he would expect to enjoy during the weekend timeframe. This lack of lift parity vis-a-vis ticket costs has, unfortunately, made him bitter over the years.

FIFY
JK Thanks for posting the Gore stoke.
Growing up we'd ride old utility snowmobiles from my aunt's house on the back side of the mountain to the boundary by the Summit double because it was faster than driving a car around to the base lodge. Sounds cool now, but I hated it as a kid- that place gets so f'n cold. Lots and lots of great early memories up there.
But, seriously, get a map. It's still a solid 90 minutes to the Northcountry from Gore.
here we go…
In the interest of friendly discourse, I was almost in the north country today [emoji3063]

PS. We can all agree that downstate is evil. :fm:
so my extended fam does a yankee swap every year for christmas since there's a bunch of us, and this year's gift theme is "stuff from NY"... obviously I wanna get something from the upstates as everyone in attendance will be from Rochester/Syracuse/Utica/Albany
I need help with some ideas, so I figured I'd consult the experts... what're we thinkin' guys? what would be some good upstate gifts to pass around? my mind goes to various beer products as an obvious choice (thinking some beer itself paired with some paraphernalia, say a pack of UC and a UC t-shirt??), maybe other foods too (cheese/charcuterie stuff), there's always finger lake wines too... let me know what you think and I'll report back on the final purchase and how it all shakes out
Anything from a Thruway Welcome Center or Stewarts will work.
And of course the UC/UC T-shirt to put your gift over the top.
Scratchers are kinda from NY too, right?
Ok, that’s funny!

So a scratch off and a pack of menthols (before they're outlawed?)
Ted's Fish Fry T-shirts were a big hit last year for Xmas.
Ted's Fish Fry shirts would be pretty sweet.
So you bundle it all up like at one of those seedy beach shop t-shirt and hat deals. Take the Ted's Fish Fry shirt, roll it up, put a scratcher and pack of Newports on top, put the bundle in a Stewarts Shops baseball hat and tie it all together with a rubber band.
Drop it all in a plastic grocery bag and there you have it, Christmas.
Are they still giving out plastic grocery bags in Upstate? Downstate is byo.
That's a negative ghost rider.
Local food merch ... Genesee Beer, Abbotts or Nick Tahou's.
George Eastman (Kodak founder) Museum probably has some really nice art/photograph books, etc
the original is still the best… it don’t get more upstate than turkey joints for the christmas.
