We started our Tuesday night training races this evening. Zwift helped. A lot. I'm out till probably fall sometime. Have fun boys.

If you had quit and rejoined it would have put you right i the middle of the pack. I saw you on the screen at one point, but it said you were 15 minutes AHEAD of us? I assumed it was a glitch.
You can always late join up to 30 minutes after the start time. And a late joiner should get put right into the middle of the pack. So make sure your sensors are working and you are moving properly and late join (rejoin) right into the pack.
Question- how do you join a race start pen when it opens and then leave and go ride elsewhere for warm up while still maintaining your position in the pen? I think this is possible yeah?
awesome Thanks Dee - that's a helpful video. I need all the help I can get if I'm gonna be in any true races
No takers tonight.
I quit once the meetup started. I’ll ride a TOW ride instead SL for double XP.
Sorry if someone showed up late to an empty meetup.

I’ll try next week April 13 and 15th.
Should I try 3 more weeks until End of April (29th)?
I'm planning on making Tuesday. Wouldn't want to ride with actual 3D people or anything.
I should be on for Tuesday as well, might be a little late depending on work schedule
Next week's weather looks better for riding indoors... today I'm headed to ride dry dirt.
Sorry Dee I had to go to work today. Til the end of April sounds appropriate.

We are a long ways away from dry dirt here unfortunately...
I got my second Covid shot this afternoon, so I rode the short TOW in the morning instead.
I'll try to make next week's rides for sure. I'd expect to make a few more in April.
Great, thanks for the responses.
This time of year anything warmer than -15 feels too warm for outdoor exercise
(but to be fair in October -5 feels way too cold to go outside)
The problem is that our piles of snow are not going anywhere with these temps. But the snow is just like sugar so the skiing isn’t great either. Our mud season needs to start ASAP or I’ll be on zwift into June.
Mud season was over before it began back east. It’s been sunny and warm, trees are two weeks ahead of schedule. Everything is turning green. Did a nice long road ride on Tuesday, 65 miles, legs felt good, thanks Zwift. So I’m outside other than finishing off TOW. Thanks for putting this together Dee, see y’all in November!
Whelp, I never made the group ride. Was hoping to be in solid shape by the end of April and join for the end. As buttah says, mud season in VT has come and gone. First ride on hero dirt the other night. Zwift definitely helped, felt like I flew up climbs that are usually slogs early season.
I’ll go straight to the trainer in November instead of waiting for January/February and I hope the group ride returns. I’ll be in enough shape to hang not too far off the back.
TOW Stage 3!!
This might have been my best Zwift race ever! Snagged a top 5% finish with 17th out of 330, new FTP bump from 341 to 348 and a kudos from GP Lama! Oh yeah and used a 'aero helmet thingy' for the first time, Dee Hubbs will be proud
Amazing what taking a few days off from skiing will do for your biking legs...

Nice work to hang onto that group and then aero yourself across the line. Did the short route in zone 1 after 4 days of no biking. Gonna ramp up to long route tomorrow.
Nice one, Carp! Love your vids, these and ‘run of the day’ are always great. Time to grab an HR monitor and get some ZP points
Yeah Carp. Full props for that effort. Awesome man.

Dude ... 348? That's super impressive.
Ha, thanks for watching guys! I just think it is cool how a story is hiding in each of these races. Sometimes a lesson in sweet victory, more often than not, in crushing defeat lol
Don't forget that 348 is carrying 200 lbs of dad bod. Now if I could get down to 180... not gonna happen. Right after that race I drank a huge IPA and followed up with an ice cream sundae...
Those have the electrolytes you crave
Avery makes and IPA with electrolytes.

I think it’s mostly an excuse.

squeezed in "stage 3 long route" tonight just before it disappeared - 1 hour and 4 minutes of grinding
I'm actually looking forward to the short route of stage 4 to try out some MTB racing in the jungle for a change of pace
Anyone else in for the ride tonight? The way things are right now, I'm scared I might actually have to take a turn in the front :fmicon:
I'm planning on it but will almost certainly be on a mellow train, spinning home lap three. Recovering from Sunday plus deadlift in workout yesterday.
Those are impressive numbers Dee.
I’m not gonna make it due to hockey - our snow is melting so our ice is likely not gonna survive much longer.
I relocated to California and didn't quite get my trainer set up in time. Missed by about 40 minutes. I will try to make Thursday.
Fun ride tonight.
4 of the regulars.

-Wendigo joining late
-D.PDX with a”signal drop” and rejoining at the top of the climb (again this week)
-EWG (F.T.)
-Dee Hubbs.
The normal chat: spreadsheets, socks, Bluetooth signals, mileage, fitness, age, still skiing or now biking.
We joked about everyone’s age, and what we assumed was everyone’s age was (or hoped).
I figured it would be fun to add an age column to my TGR Zwift spreadsheet, and get a real good overview (or rude awakening that it’s not 20yo wippersnappers beating you up every week)
See ya Thursday.
Nice! I was feeling even more mellow than normal so did a fairly easy ride on the short course for TOW.
