I have a pair of Mark IV Comps, are they the recommended ski for Mt Superior?
the wasatch snow pack looked great today...from the uta bus
main was a great day. Smooth, shockingly consistent, chargable late season skiing in a favorite run. serious suncups outside of the chute. still able to ski to the parking lot with a little effort.

what 800 inches has provided. always a nice run. especially during country club ski season. mmmmmm, summer snowpack, consolidation, mmmmmmm.
rog
so main meadows has transitioned to a chute once again - nice
Smuggs, any other pics from the 12th? No naked ones, please
on saturday i finally move up to albion till end of october. my camp at first will be at the end of vail ridge. all mags are welcome in my camp. ahh to get back on skis!
havent posted here in awhile, but has anyone found a gopro on little superior? lost it about halfway down a few months ago, Id look for it myself but Im back in Seattle now...
we had a huge slide there this spring - may still be buried
as long as you have high tops on little superior is great way to descend. it shaves about an hour off hikes especially if your car is at the base from doing the s.ridge. its probably still faster even if your car is in the town.
but scree + gopro = no bueno
Can't wait till next year.. what a good run it was.
The waterfall rap looked kewl.
But the best part is fighting invisible monsters, massive beater triage, and some pretty nice skiing.
Nice vidy.
early in the day albion basin is skiing well - pics one of these days
at first i was like 20 minutes? pass. but since i was bored at work I gave it a shot and I'm sure happy I did! That was sweet dude plus I did some tours with Corey this year and its always nice to watch friends in a ski movie! Looks like you made the most of an epic season!
Got up and skied Suicide Chute yesterday... choke's getting a little thin, but it's still skiable from the top to within a few hundred feet of the road!

Still plenty of snow up there!
as previously stated, main has been pretty fun this july but things have certainly changed quite a bit in the last week...then again, i have to remind myself we're in august now.

So I might come down this weekend for some August turns, is this worth a two-hour drive?
Let me hijack this thread east by 50 miles or so. I heard there's still a lot of snow in the Uintas near Camp Steiner. I've never been out that way. Is anybody up for a day trip Thursday or Friday for some turns? I can do the transporting if you can navigate.
that's up near bald mtn pass isn't it? i don't know the area but i need august turns and would be down for the trip if someone can attest to there being something easily skiable.
looking for my august turns as well, but it would have to be a weekend trip
going to hit main this weekend. Ill use snowbird for the way up....spot a car at alta. Done. Sept will probably be gunsight or devils castle apron and we all know what usually happens by the end of october?? Mmmmmmm 11/12 season.
Camp Stiener is past bald mountain pass 4-5 miles. Did some turns on Superior this am, lovely suncups. Saw a guy lay down some fine turns on the apron, looked better than Sup.
so has anyone been up alta this week? Main still continuous?
still continuous as of yesterday, some friends skied it. I like the idea of Tram up, your smart.
Thanks for the Steiner/Hayden info. If I try it tomorrow, I'll report back. Then again, tram---> Alta (or Little Cloud) sounds pretty alluring for my lazy ass.
Anybody seen Slaag up at Alta?
lots of snow everywhere - white/red pine areas loaded!
The Uintas were (was?) a bust. I saw some ribbons of snow up high but nothing beyond patches by the highway. Since I don't know my way around, I didn't feel like hiking in. Pretty drive, though.
I'll probably hike up Brighton, or hit the Bird tram Friday.
hi Brian - i am over i white pine now
