Yea Fussy. We’ve tried to link up a few times, hopefully this year. I think we mighta talked at the top of sterling once. Always trying to find folks to ride the bday bowls with
I normally park in the lower lot. The Mrs doesn’t like the flat skate past the tbar
That's what I thought I remembered. I'll be on my old NS Cobra likely wearing a yellow FRS jacket, hope to link up.
Yea, that skate can get interesting real quick on a race day.
Edit: I just looked and if your digits haven't changed in the last few years I actually have your number and will shoot you a message in the morning.
finally a little sanity after losing my brother last week and a bout with Covid last monthAttachment 352204
Sorry to hear that 2ski2fish4ever, condolences.
Here’s Vermont Tourism’s marketing fluff for the Boston Globe just in time for the holidaze...

I really liked the “personal base lodge” marketing speak for dirtbagging it out of your car. Nice spin!
vibes, 2ski. skiing can’t fix it but it can help clear the mind.

Good coverage at Smuggs and no crowds.
Jealous of you gents sitting on a lift! Hopefully in short order I’ll be out there.
Sorry to hear 2ski.
Hey Mainers. Or at least Maine skiers.
I have some comps for Sugarloaf, as well as Shawnee, Spruce and Big Rock.
These are from the Ski Maine Pass deal.
They seem to have a pretty limited window- At least at Sunday River, they expire 12/24. At SR, passes can be redeemed now, even though there are no day passes available.
The SR passes are spoken for, but if somebody an use any of the others, let me know.

good cover in the cats.
crowd = me ;0]
below: tongue, sandwich
(first run ever on mercuries. so light, so stiff, so comfortable (especially at toes) right out of his box so far.)
Fine first day. I like those cat crowds ^^^
FD, Same number. I’ll be busy moving for a while. Today was a quick reprieve from the judge
Got you, we were keeping an eye out for you. Let me know next time you are headed out and we can coordinate in advance .
Vibes to you and your family 2ski.
Sweet Bucket. We had ski/ride on conditions all but a few runs. The lack of a crowd made for a pleasant first day despite the freezing precip but looks like you had your own private hill.
Thanks for the offer, a s b.
Mag Micro Mini with FD, doremite, and myself (and a couple of non-mags) this morning.
Just a little more coverage and a lot more will go.

After the initial line up, it thinned out quickly.

The mid-day grooming did just what it should. Lots of folks headed out at lunch and a few of us stayed to eat and drink in the lot. A second shift arrived (mostly young racers and boarders) and we had fresh cord all over again.
Lot shitters are high end (with tunes) and make it feel like you are backstage at a music festival.

Try harder

Vibes to ya 2fish, hope the schuss brought you some peace.
Sorry 2s2f4e.... Was relaxing to get on snow. I am thankfully not dealing with death of anyone close but it was nice to ski and feel something w/ a semblance of more normal times. Glad to hear your experience offers some healing. Lifted my mood for sure.
Going back tomorrow afternoon. Not sure if I am ready for the luxury tunes-filled shitters but up for more hot laps for certain!
the avoiding crowds part was a great success. the up, straight up a steep trail was the high point. the down was tough. snow had become uber heavy and grabby. retreated to lower angle trails and was able to link some turns.
still better than original plan which would have involved 25 min lines to ride under loaded lifts (a bit of cross purpose of ever there was!)
no core shot yesterday but i did walk down the last 150ft of vert on overlook as the going got very pebbly. i blew an edge apart on that very trail 2years back!
all issues aside was great to be in the mountains and on a mountain again.
^ fussy et all: glad to hear crowds were minimal at smuggs. cover looks nice.
definitely getting there.
Thanks everyone,as you get older the old adage"live everyday as if its your last" really sinks in.
