They need to enforce it better. Social media complaints and threats of up to 30 day bans aren't going to change anything. That's a slap on the wrist. It should be an instant full year ban, no questions asked. A big fine would be good too, though that would have to be written into state law like some others do.

Crystal was great today. The wind transport made 3" ski like a lot more (though occasionally a lot less) and it was more of a Montana/Utah consistency except where the wind had packed it into the usual feeling wind slabs. I caught the opening of Chair Six just right and got a bunch of great laps there. Skied an all-time-great Powder Bowl to go see what Northway was like – top was great, bottom was scraped clean and/or mashed up, so went to take a few trips through Southback before leaving, which were amazing. Strangest part of the day was sitting at the top of Boxcar eating a sandwich and drinking some soup… it was cold and snowing lightly, but not uncomfortable at all, no wind, no nothing, hardly any tracks anywhere in Southback. By the time I got to the runout from Silver Basin it was sorta windy and by top of Quicksilver it was really windy and pretty miserable. The base was snowing sideways and my car said it was 9º F (it was 10º F when I parked at 8:45). Never experienced Crystal with no wind to speak of on the ridge tops but a legitimate blizzard at the base.
A solid 4 snowflake out of 5 day on the Buster scale. Lack of any crowds to speak of helped a lot.

Update: the fine grooming of 2 years ago suffered a small re-grade, erosion channels, brush growth. Turns were not too bad once I got going, weeds & all.

Done already? We called it yesterday after hiking two laps to Bowl 5 traverse. Great skiing but it was hard to manage the cold between hiking, skiing and riding the lift. Supposed to warm up a little next week. Still cold though.Quote:

We were first chair. Lines didn’t even start until after 10 and they weren’t bad. 2 hikes out, only once to 5. Storm slab propagated and I flushed chute 4. That sent me down to castle to get more low hanging fruit. Hoping they do routes tomorrow, otherwise bringing gear.
