thanks Doesn't look like they have the padded ass and only limited sizes. You are right about the options about 50 choices came up.

I noticed it today because I read your post.
I hope you didn’t ruin it for me, because I never really thought about it before!
For real though, it is noticeable standing around, but not when you are riding fast because you have other stuff to pay attention to. Unless you are planning on doing a lot of climbing in a full face it probably isn’t that big of a deal. Would be nicer if it was silent though.
Alternative to Shimano ice tech rotors that have a chance of actually coming true and staying true?
6 bolt , 203 only
D02s pads
4 piston brakes
SwissStop Catalyst
Magura HC storm?
Dominion D Rotors?
Galfer?
Or maybe they all just suck
The only rotors that have given me trouble have been the fancy two part Shimano ice tech. The simpler Shimano one piece are fine, and I like SRAM centerline rotors - I have centerline rotors on two bikes that have Shimano brakes, and they work fine together.
RT76 are fine, used them for years with Saints and Zees. RT86 Icetech I tried once and wore them into the core which seemed really sketchy but at least was a good sign they were done. I'm on Galfer Wave 2mm now, also with D02 and D03 pads. Brakes feel better when the rotors are new and they cool better in theory at least. I've seen Magura MDR-C mentioned as being less easily warped than some. And I have SRAM 2mm on my hardtail (Centrelines I guess, mechanic friend gave me them), work fine with Deores. Go with any of these if they're significantly cheaper than others.
I never had a big problem with rotors warping either, only from badly packed vans. I've read (maybe here) that keeping a hot brake squeezed after coming to a stop can cause warps - I don't think I ever really did that but consciously tell myself not to now.
only problems I've evere had with brake rotors was falling off skinnies
All interesting food for thought, headed to a couple LBS right now, we’ll see what’s in stock.
TRP DH-Evo brakes... I cannot adjust them in enough... finger is pretty far out at full engagement. I've heard this is a complaint of some reviewers.
It is causing hand fatigue. I tried putting on fat grips to see if bringing my hand out would help since I can't bring the lever in. It helped a little but still fatigue. I'm literally having to stop on extended steep tech due to fatigue. Tips to solve this instead of buying MT7s?
I might experiment with the highly polarizing sramano axs setup — gx axs derailleur/shifter with XT cassette/chain. Looks like the only possible quirk for setup is the b-gap adjustment, as the sram tool won’t play nicely with the xt cassette. Saw a video where they recommended measuring 40mm from tooth to jockey under sag. Does this sound right? Am I gonna die? (Note: I’m terrible with drivetrain adjustments, which is partially why I’m axs curious in the first place).

Well this certainly wasn’t helping mattersAttachment 468602
What is that?
Experimenting with a frankendrivetrain right before a road trip to an impoverished ex-logging town with one bike shop, in a place where tree branches and also entire trees will just randomly fall across the trail and get sucked into your derailleur sounds like a BRILLIANT idea!!!!!
