yeah man, good on ya... it's thought provoking existential questions like that that are absolutely the reason why we, as a group, are a primary reference on the highly esteemed 'wikipedia" website for any and all possibly relevant or pertinent knowledge pertaining to the actual definition of the general area well known and acknowledged to be teh upstate area of the state of new york.... (wherever the fuck that may be.)
East of the river shenanigans https://www.syracuse.com/crime/2023/...opers-say.html How do you even get an overloaded Civic going that fast? Who thought putting kids in the trunk was a good idea? Finally, did any of you ever think that a Civic has a 2-body trunk?
Well, he shouldn’t drive drunk I guess but that many kids in that car is impressive. I got 7 into a Chevy Spectrum back in the day without putting anyone in the trunk. The most I ever got in the Safari was 12 but I think we could have fit more in there- we ran out of people. It’s funny how I’m looking at that stuff differently now that I have a 21 yr old and 17 yr old versus when I was 17.

Which one of those is the Seneca Casino?
I managed five in my car in high school, which doesn’t seem impressive. However, the car was a Plymouth Laser (same as Eagle Talon/Misubishi Eclipse), so 2+2. And I’m 6’4”, and three of the other guys were 6’1”-6’2” and 200 lb+.
Also was a manual, so needed some space to work the clutch and shifter.
Would have been easier and better with chicks, but I wasn’t that cool in high school (or now, for that matter).
This was only an hour north of the NY US border, so almost Upstate even.
them's the Finger-banging Lakes
you clearly did not grow up in the southern tier...

Was it Hamilton Ontario? That’s a lawless place. Once a carload of naked women passed me on the QEW there. I think a lot of strippers who worked the Niagara Falls circuit lived in Hamilton.
FWIW I think that Vancouver BC has the best looking hookers on the continent. Back to your regular programming.
385 miles of thruway. Fuck. That’s long. It wore me out.
But they mow the median. And the sides. How many state employees and hours and dollars does that cost?
less than the insurance payouts from roadside grazing deer strikes…

Lol.
I can clearly recall a ride among 15 in a Country Squire (who names a car that?)
Not gonna lie, there were definitely a couple of times in HS that I transported other kids in the trunk of my Celica. Without exact memories I'd say that made the total (2 door) car load at least 7.
It was their choice, and I was on back roads so probably didn't top 60. We weren't drinking, but we were driving around after school so I have to assume the car and likely the trunk were both hotboxed.
I think we had 18 or 20 in the truck and a raft stack 5 high (along with a couple IK's) on this shuttle, State Patrol passed us with lights and sirens and the look on his face was priceless as he went by, I think we were lucky he had something more important to do.

in my day, standard operating procedures fer teh saturday night drive-in set up was two up the front to avoid raisin’ suspicions, and 4 to 6 in the trunk. along with a few beer balls. trunk folk paid for the driver’s ticket. so much room in the caprise classic trunk, you could rent it out on airbnb for good coin these days…
