Hit 30 degrees two nights ago backpacking at 11,000 feet in Colorado. Snow predicted up there this week...
The Turn, from baseball to skiing? Guess that time of year is here.

View from home window this morning at Kilpisjärvi, Finland. Early snow also in northern europe. This might even stick on high elevation on the mountains. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...b11a446c28.jpg

Been one of the nicer September/Octobers on record here in SW Montana. In the 70s and sunny again today with a hint of some rain/snow later this week. Going to mow the lawn for the last time and begin winterizing today. Bring on the Turn.
Temps are approaching freezing overnight and highs are not exceeding 75. The hardwoods here are changing color nicely and the larch trees are becoming chlorotic.
And we still have extensive wildfire activity. Have had four days in the last week with AQI exceeding 150.

Hottest Utah October on record. I love fall but it’s not a thing anymore here.
My version of “The Turn” was first day of the season at the ski shop yesterday….10-5….cleaned up/organized my “area”/about 10 installs/ and about 15 tunes while training a new guy on the machines.
The Larch.
Felt. The feeling not the fabric.

Forecast 4C overnight Tuesday. Means frost potential depending on where you live in town (almost 500m elev difference from bottom to top). So glad for the greenhouse otherwise the cukes, toms and peppers would be done for the season. Good moisture this year so leaves not turning yet. But definitely the Turn is here this week.
Yellow leaves today off near Officer’s Gulch, Copper Mtn!!
I am militantly against the Turn being talked about before September, but I did mount, tune and wax a pair of skis last week and ordered Shift bindings today to get those mounted up. So if its gear prep were talking, I get it..

Still several weeks until football starts too. We are a ways out from the turn here.
