Looks promising. We knew it was going to use the 3.0 L engine but it wasn’t yet known what tune. I think this truck will sell well. Hell I’d buy one if I didn’t have my diesel van 4x4 conversion
Just posted this in the RV thread. Pretty excited to get a 30mpg truck, although real world will be lower. My V8 gets 12-15mpg so yeah, 30 sounds wonderful. The 11,400 towing rating is also pretty appealing.Quote:

30mpg does sound great but I wonder how much the 10speed trans would be hunting up and down mountain passes. 2000lbs payload is awesome for a 150 though.

My 4.0 Liter Frontier only got 16.5mpg, hopefully more effecient diesels will drive the prices down long run, 45K for the Colorado is a little rich.Quote:

2.3 ecoboost with around 300 hp. 10 spd auto only. Interested to see how practical the supercab/6 ft bed version is. I assume the 2.7 eb will be in the Raptor version.
Not sure about the front end yet but the wheel arches on the new Silverado are a yuge improvement. Inline six baby Duramax is exciting.

Love the diesel evolution going on. Both the new F150 and the mid-max will have great applications.
That said, we just bought a 2017 F350 and ho-lee shit has technology come a long way. Even compared to the 6.4 this truck is silent and a goddamned rocket ship. It's also the first new vehicle I've ever owned in 40 years, so that's exciting.

I don't know if us diesel truck require a diesel particulate filter, but in France I bought a Subaru diesel and at 80,000 miles I had to change that filter and it was$4,000. All diesel cars there require this filter, and they all need replacement before 100 k miles, which basically negates any improvement in mileage.

Have yet to read anything other than opinion that states the dpf must be replaced every 100k miles. Government mandate requires emissions components be warranted for 80k miles in the US so that’s a bit more coverage in that regard. On the other hand, Petrol Subaru’s require head gasket repair every 100k miles so you’re probably still going to come out ahead.
Depends. Currently, each state has their own emission requirements and that is often determined by which county within that state. As an example, where I live in BFE, Idaho, I can disable my DPF as we have no emissions checks in our county. But if you did that in Portland, you'd likely be hung.Quote:
