5 days with new 10" of snow each. Happy dogs..
Today the husky (Buck) decided that he doesn't want to skin up and went for a hike with his mom. Only the samoyed (Bor - his name means pine-tree in my mother tongue) came along.
Interesting how the paws of the samoyed are much better suited for deep snow. Much bigger and with the toes spread out...

My daughter wants me to find a female Sammy to adopt. I told her not to hold her breath. Such cute dogs.
Sammies are incredibly friendly and social dogs both towards humans and other dogs. However, they’re also highly intelligent and resourceful, which means if they set their mind on something, they’ll often figure out a way to get it... ... and you might not like the result. Adopting an adult female of this breed, with her personality already developed, can present its own set of challenges, but nothing that can't be overcome.
Bor (my buddy in the photo) is exceptionally well-behaved, mainly because I was highly involved during his first year. He was with me constantly, and I made a conscious effort to prevent bad habits from forming. I even brought him to work with me every day — thankfully, my office is pet-friendly.
Additionally, sammies need at least 10 "human" kilometers daily to burn off their energy :) - otherwise that same energy would be spend at home and that is not something I would recommend. Lastly, diet and food portioning are very important!

That made me laugh. Aanev, actually I posted a few pages back I have puppies coming for the first time in my life so I can raise them right from scratch, with no baggage adopted dogs often have. My wife is annoyed with me as we don't buy pets, we rescue, but tough shit, these are my last two dogs and I want what can not be adopted. Bjorn the Keeshond comes at months end and Astrid the Finnish Lapphund has been delayed until fall.
Hats off, liv2ski, and sorry for having missed your previous post. Looking forward to seeing pics of the pups.
Who trains whom?
Go a few pages back, I posted pics for people not familiar with the breeds.
Beautiful dogs!

Aanev, love the Sammy stoke!
I’ve had 3 Sammies in my life and my sister has two currently that we get to see at the holidays. Always love them and the breed and it’s so fun seeing my Border Collies interact with them.
