That’s pretty fucking dead on with my own mental map, however there are a few anomalies.

The legends and hoaxes caught my eye. I was hoping for a longer list. I knew about most of these already. The Cardiff giant was at the Farmers’ Museum in Cooperstown last I knew.

Anyway, Ardsley is not upstate but I got a glimpse of what our new rest stops look like.

I think this is the only Chick fil A in Westchester- hence the long line at a Thruway rest stop.
Attachment 463447
Contrast with the Burger King
Attachment 463449
I guess the Chick .fil A explains this. Right before the tolls just south of the rest stop I passed these clowns doing about 30 in the right lane. They really wanted a chicken sandwich
Attachment 463448
They had a tiny dog with them on that scooter too. Good rest stop
living the dream, or content creating?
inquiring minds want to know.
Have to admit, this is all new to me.

Schenectady is Mohawk Valley and not Capital District? I beg to differ...
yeah except for that big river valley right through the center of town... waht was the name of that river, again? oh right. mohawk.
much closer than that “capital”
Attachment 463468
fact.
A live map with proposed boundaries would really help the n00bS.
I think there was a front forming across the Bear Mtn Bridge, but we need to keep receipts!
*Update - No downstate for us. Crotonville / Ossining area caught our eye, but just isn't the right fit.
Respectfully: It’s true that it touches the Mohawk River but if that’s the whole story then the town of Colonie would be part of the Mohawk Valley too and North Creek (Gore) would be part of the Hudson Valley region. No way. Rivers are too long to be definitive. Schenectady and Colonie are capital district and Gore is in the Adirondack region.
we gots a upstates flag too?
"The Hudsonia Tricolor, an unofficial flag used to represent Upstate New York."

who knew?
except albany wasn't the capital until 1797 and arent van curler of nijkirk was granted letter patents for schenectady in 1684... in the mohawk river valley.
this dude.

this town.

in that valley...
fact.
That one cuts close to the bone ....

Who cares about the sub-regions. It’s all upstate
That guy looks like he’s got a stick up his ass. Another name for the Capital District is The Tri City Area. One of the cities is Schenectady
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capita...ict_(New_York)
CDTA has a “Schenectady Division”
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capita...tion_Authority
Seems pretty definitive. Also, Schenectady pretty much sucks. Can’t imagine why you would want it in your region anyway.
Come on bro, this is important work being done here.
The dude with no arms and no legs? I saw him in the river.
