Conditions don't look great for getting Berthoud open today. If anyone is stranded, sounds like the YMCA is the place to be. Be careful is you drive around. 125 or Ute Pass are probably not a good choice in high winds unless you are up for an adventure.
Currently stuck in Steamboat. I was behind the plow that closed the pass at 8am. Worse places to be I guess.

I was in Granby with the fam this weekend. Writing was on the wall that Berthoud wasn’t opening so 4:45am departure through Byers - Kremmling - Silverthorne.
9 north was about as sketchy as I’ve ever seen any ‘major’ road in my 2 decades here. Had to stop multiple times near Green Mountain when visibility went to zero in the dark.
3:40 total drive time back to central Denver.

Deputies responded this morning, January 15, 2024, to Grand County Road 50/Church Park on a report of several vehicles stranded in the area. With the assistance of Grand County Road and Bridge they were able to safely get these motorists back on the road. Unfortunately, these motorists all followed an online electronic mapping program that had misadvised County Road 50 was an alternate viable route to the Berthoud Pass closure. I have no particular insight but the Avalanche Warning has been extended to Thursday and the wind forecast for today looks gnarly.
