Is that so wrong?

On the lift:
"The default look of snowboarding is so much cooler than the default look of skiing."
Now I’m stuck on trying to figure out what the “default look” means.
It means nothing. Two words put together by somebody who has a hard time putting more than two words together to sound smart.

They look great on those descending traverses across the bowl though!

Sorta kinda
Pretty mucho
Get on the gondi as a single with a couple from out of town and a Dad/11 yo son duo. Guy in the couple asks “where have you been skiing?” Dad says, over on the quad side and the new six pack.”
Guy:”Oh, the six pack..is that like a gondola?”
Dad:”…no…it is a six pack.”
Guy: ”Oh, so its like a quad…”
Kid finally pipes up and says “no, six pack, like it fits six people. That is why they call it six!”
I laughed pretty hard.
Guy cut his losses and started to talk about skiing in Connecticut.

This thread produces some funny shit for sure . Although everyone posting at one time in their skiing/riding past qualified as a “Gaper” most probably due to abilities but others out of ignorance .
Fessing up I was a Gaper for my first two years based on learning. I took no lessons except from pointers from friends but I’m still learning about the sport after almost 48yrs . Carry on with the stories Mags very funny stuff here.
Walking down the steps from ticket office to lift at Snowbird Creekside with a buddy. We notice odd chunks of blue plastic all over the steps. We then notice that these chunks are falling off a kid's boots directly in front of us. By the time he gets to the bottom his boots have completely disintegrated and he's standing in his socks. What's pictured are chunks that hadn't been picked up yet. Absolutely nuts. The kid said they were 20 year old yard sale boots. But better they break there than on the mtn. Poor kid.

Oof. But yeah, definitely better than exploding on your first turn.
Was taking a leak in a parking garage bathroom the other day. Kid next to me is wearing rental ice skates. I told his father that tromping through a bunch of concrete, through a parking garage then into the tiled bathroom was probably not condoned for the facility nor the skates. But I also told him that I could imagine how long it would take to get them off when the kid really has to go. The kid was about 8. His Dad carried him out for the return trip. I just smiled and laughed a bit.

overheard in the lodge at lunch:
"let's wait until it turns powdery ...."
36 degree snain for the past 12 hours,
temps slowly dropping,
snow in the forecast tonight
