The lifties at my local rink never bother trying to fill chairs

Ah, Ski Brule, where a college roommate of mine tried to spray the deck with snow, but must have slid out and nailed the deck with his head. He ended up in a coma for a while and made him a little odd. Hope you are well Tad Possard.
My ski season is on hold.
If you have been reading Gimp Central, my knee has been giving me problems. MRI shows torn meniscus.
Surgery is Friday. Doc says no skiing for six weeks, possibly longer.

Sorry to hear this, Harry. Hopefully you get it fixed and heal up quick.
I’m looking forward to your first Christie figure [emoji644] photo post op! Saw they’re opening this weekend.
I am sorry to hear this, Harry !
I know you have big plans for the season !
Please do your Rehab. and PT, and

Good luck Harry. I'm sure you'll come back stronger than ever.
It was great to reconnect up at Brule, thanks so much for taking the time to meet up. Too bad we did not get a chance to ski some laps together, but appreciate you letting me ramble on a bit in the pub. I needed that. Crazy that Yooper just dropped in out of nowhere. Haven't skied or seen him live in person since my daughter was a baby. Instant mag summit.
Brule is a special place. The magic is strong.

Yeah, I got the txt from Christie Mountain that they are opening today. Hopefully people get after it, I love Christie.
Doing well today. Pain is present but minimal. Currently watching “Swift, Silent, Deep” with an ice pack on my knee. My brother is here to be my caregiver, Djongo just called to see how I was doing, I told my brother “see that guy in the movie, that’s the guy I’m on the phone with.” Instant street cred with my brother.
Life is good. Glad I got this done, even though it will mess up the start of my season. I would much rather ski pain free for the last half of the season vs. skiing the entire season in pain.
I’ve already talked to AxeBiker that anytime maggots ski Trollhaugen I will join even though I can’t ski. I will man a barstool by the window and watch you guys while that friendly bartendress with the fake boobeez keeps me entertained.
SKIING IS FUN !
Skiing IS fun
Looking at fake boobeez IS FUN TOO!
Heal up quick, hope to see you on snow soon.

Glad to hear you are doing well, Harry! I’ll let you know when my grumpy old men’s club hits Trollhaugen again. One destroyed tibial shelf, one new bovine heart valve, one quadruple bypass between the three of them. You’ll fit right in!
^^ my people !
Harry, guys like your brother get all the credit. Guys like me get to live under the umbrella of freedom that he and they provide.
He's the Man.
Chestnut is 99% open. Backside, Warpath, everything but Mineshaft.
Yesterday I went deer hunting in some premier Iowa whitetail woods.
Today skiing.
No lift lines, but enough people to pay their bills.

^^ I recognize that pink Flylow jacket. Your kid absolutely rips. And what a beautiful spot looking over the mighty Mississippi.
That pic is just what I need as I sit here with an ice pack on my knee. I ask everyone in this thread to keep posting stoke to keep me motivated.

A barge went by Chestnut at sunset. Very unusual, must be making a run for the ice free south during this brief warm spell, and before the ice locks up this week. I'm not a barge expert but this was super cool, and unusual. They were moving very slowly and breaking ice. Pic is from my phone, I did run this version through lightroom to make it resemble the actual scene.

that is a cool picture... what a great view.
Great pic! It's been almost 30yrs since I've been to chestnut. Had a friend with a house outside galena growing up. I'm half tempted to throw my gear in the truck when I make a quick trip to Milwaukee this week. I don't think I'll have time unfortunately. Keep up the Midwest stoke guys!

I would have loved to see that.

Very cool photo uglymoney. What a scene.
If only it was that SMOKESHOW that used to work at Madison Lodge @ MLB... I'd give your other knee for that! :D
In all seriousness though, glad all went well. Like I said - really concentrate on the PT, as it makes all the difference. Listen to your body, and know when to say when.
Good luck with the rehab Harry! I was driving by Cascade Mtn a few hours ago and man were they blowing snow! Never had a chance to ride it growing up.

Here’s to a speedy recovery Harry.
Got our first day of the year at Wilmot last weekend. Typical early season-4 runs open-skiing. Kid was very stoked to get back on snow. Spent half our time in the terrain park and he cleared a table top for the first time in his life. There were some kids throwing down in the park for what was small features. Lots of backflips off that table top which is not a normal occurrence at Wilmot. Crazy how smooth kids are these days.

Hope things heal well Harry! I hope to ski with you soon enough.
I want to ski with you too, Buzz. My goal is to be skiing in February. If that happens, I hope to make the mag summit at Beaver. Stars need to align.Quote:

I love that pic of the little kid flying at Wilmot. That’s what skiing is all about.
