We lost Ava this morning. Beautiful Bernese-Golden mix. 6 years old. Up until 3 days ago she seemed fine. Yesterday she basically collapsed. Hemangiosarcoma. We've had a lot of dogs, still have 3 now, but Ava was the love of my wife's life, such a sweet and soulful dog. wtf.
I stayed with her and patted her head as they put her down. I've done that a bunch of times before but this was rough. Is rough. Not 2 hours ago as I write this.
Because my wife loved her so much I had a portrait done and gave it to her a surprise on her birthday 3 weeks ago. It seems like a long time ago now. Glad I did it. I'll post a pic of it from my phone in a minute.
