Hey outabounds be careful, you're infringing on a skier666 TR copyright. And when are you going to post some handheld quick exposure shots in here? ;)
Seriously, you're killing it. Love love this one

mtcham I like your son's shot - *almost* makes me want to try sandboarding! Cool colors.
Hey truth, did you spotlight the meter panel or is that digital PP?
2010 Gelande Quaffing from a far. For some reason, I liked this tree.

was home in LA last weekend and got to hang out with the 13 year old girl ... not a great photo but I really liked the contrast.

My son had a bunch of nice shots but this one really struck me too. Kind of like the infamous phonebooth that used to be out in the Mohave. I believe this is from the Amargosa dunes NW of Las Vegas. Tweaked the contrast and saturation just a bit-he was shooting with a polarizer most of the time.
Here are a few experimentations from today with hopefully some very mild HDR processing.

mtcham:
Your first one looks good with detail in the shadows but no awkwardness. On the last one, the building and the grass next to it seem to glow in an odd sort of way. I would include most of the grass and snow in the lower part of the frame in the lighter exposure. Having the brightness on the right fall off to darker on the left in a bright sunny day image feels wrong. I it's because we subconsciously know it should be more evenly lit.
I love your son's desert photo by the way. Very nice!
Thanks, Shralph, and I accept your challenge. I'll post something handheld (one of these days).
This waterfall requires a hell of a bushwack over very steep terrain where there are no trails, but plenty of cliffs. Pretty nice, because it keeps everyone else out.

I'm happy to take criticism on this shot (and anything else I post). Does it seem oversaturated or weird? Everything looks normal on my home monitor, but I get to work and the water looks blue. Something is f'ed up somewhere.

Top of the whitepass chair in Fernie, about 7am.
Water looks bluish on my monitor too.

outabounds, the water looks a little blue on my monitor but hardly much of a trace at all, and it actually adds to the photo I feel. Not oversaturated at all, such a wonderful shot that has me looking closely for the nymphs to emerge!
Here's one I took last weekend of a fellow maggot after a great tour, any Tahoe locals recognize that burger?
