The Fairview in Talkeetna
The Mangy Moose in Teton Village
Dornans in GTNP
The National Bar in Chamonix

the outside tables at Degnan’s Deli in Yosemite Village
Would you wear this? Asking for a friend.

I’m not sure what kind of bar could be worse than a climbers bar.
Guy in the lift line yesterday on some kind of carving skis- "What are you doing on MSPs? Those aren't a good hardback ski. I was gonna buy some Hojis but I moved here". Me *shrug "I don't know man, they're the closest thing to a hardback ski I got". (skis are MSP99s) Him "those are only the 2nd pair of 4frnt skis I've seen in CO!" Me- *Shrug* "I don't know man" Luckily it was a short lift ride.
Guy I work w used the term "hop on a call" the other day. I called him out
When I was there (like 20 years ago, fuck, I'm getting old), it was nice. I think we would all sit outside, though. Don't remember the inside. Wasn't there late either. Pilots can't have more than 1 or 2 with dinner if they're flying the next day.
Maybe it got stinky inside after 9:30pm, idk.
"hop on your mom" is a common phrase
.
Boulder has jack shit for bars.
Though once upon a time I spent a night at the Bustop listening to one of the guides on an infamously ill fated Everest trip spill his guts about how awful it was during a buddy’s bachelor party. First time he had been out since it all went down. Great human being. Heartwrenching to hear. That was the only time I was ever at the bustop in my life.
It sucked. But it was an actual bar.
.
^
I've been there,
mom worked 8-to closing
.
It was much funnier the second time.
Climbers' bars? What climbers' bars? Everyone knows that after you free solo El Cap you don't go to the bar and brag on it, you hang board in your van.
